i did that at an archery store on the mainland once... .. ..i got angry when the owner didn;t believe i hunted with a 62 pound longbow.... he looked at me from head to tow and laughed.... . so i went straight to their indoor testing range a few feet away and grabbed a black widow longbow @ 65 pounds they had on display - picked up an arrow and shot it into the center of the target downrange.... with no arm guard and no shooting glove.... .... the assistant there quickly handed me another arrow as if to say do it again.... so i did... and then shot another after that...... .. the owner conceded but added it was not normal for most women and that i was some kind of anomaly... ..I shot a bow without an arm guard once. Never again. I ended up with a perfectly rectangular bruise extending from my wrist to half way up my forearm.
we left there and i sat quiet for a few minutes then let out an angry scream....mostly mad at myself... ... we proceded straight to a 7-11 and i bought a huge bag of ice to put my arm on... ..made a valley in the middle of it and laid my whole forearm on it.... .my fingers were not sore at all which was a surprise.... . but the bruise on my arm stayed there for days..... . i never did that again.... .... ..
