Do you think there were any winners, losers?

Takeaways?

I was mildly impressed with Tim Scott, but it’s a marathon and not a sprint. Thought Desantis did better than I expected he would, given the claims against “him having no personality”.

Didn't see it. My bull dung quotient wouldn't handle it. There's plenty of dung in the GOP as well.

I'm glad to hear that you think Desantis and Scott did well. They are probably my favorite; even over Trump.

Either way, the GOP candidate has a huge mountain ahead of him from the Democratic/media cartel.

Tim Scott is a solid Christian. Pence says he is, but is Catholic. Vivek won, hands down. He said things that I totally agree with.

We need to end single mother households getting tons of cash.
We need to stop supporting Ukraine.
Close the NEA.
And many others.

i didn;t watch..... my preferred candidate wasn;t there anyway.... .... but i will say this... if republicans lose in 2024 it will prove correct what i said about them last year - that they don;t really want to win.... not in the big way that puts them back in power - back in the seat of responsibility.... ...they would rather hold a few select seats and fund raise off their partys losses..... .. and if the american people allow that to happen again 2024 then they will have proven themselves too stupid to maintain a free country..... .....but like they say - time will tell...

at this point i would not vote for her if she ran for dog catcher... most hawaiian voters feel the same way.... . and that hurts me to say because i know her....

.
Why? She seems more conservative than liberal.

They're irrelevant. The only debates that matter are the Trump indictments.

'Zombie Reaganism' in Milwaukee

The spectacle of Republicans, even after President Trump, "wabbling back" to the winning formulas of decades past even has a name: "zombie Reaganism."
While conservative writers such as Rod Dreher have frequently invoked the term in recent years, it may have first gained popularity through a satirical video from The Onion in 2009, "Zombie Reagan Raised from Grave to Lead GOP."
"A regurgitation of Reaganism is no better than any number of the 80s cover bands that frequent dive bars: it satisfies a certain nostalgic yearning[,] but there’s something static about the sound and pathetically artificial about the presentation," Mr. Wold said.
"Today’s candidates need to offer policies for today’s challenges. Part of doing that is accepting the mistakes of the Reagan Revolution in Sacramento and Washington, D.C.," he added.

Don't care.

Take off hoser! 😉

OK, let me rephrase the OP. Who do you predict will emerge?

<ALAYMAN’s prediction: Ransom still doesn’t care>😁

My prediciton is that by the time primary season actually comes around, only Trump and DeSantis will definitely still be in the race.

A lot of the other current candidates will drop out due to lack of support. They're the ones polling in single digits now.

<ALAYMAN’s prediction: Ransom still doesn’t care>😁

The reason I don't care is that fringe candidates and fringe parties are basically worth the same thing. it's a waste of time paying any attention to the platform of someone who won't even be in the race next summer because they are unelectable.

do you have a couple of hours?.... (or maybe 3 or 4.. )..... .... ..i;ll see if i can condense it.....

she has a history of going back and forth from conservative to liberal as she saw it benefitting her career.... (or her image, as it were)... and that started when she was ver young not even in politics yet herself... but merely helping her fathers campaigns - hawaii state senator mike gabbard.....

she talks a great story but she has never finished or seen the completion of anything she started... ....hawaiian voters are mad at her because after we elected her to congress she went to washington and literally disappeared.... was nowhere to be found.... missed many key votes and key sessions... blamed it on military service but the people in her unit say she was nowhere to be found there too.....

she actually worked in the socialist bernie sanders campaign during the 2016 elections but then pretended to support trump policies after trump got elected and when things were going well... but then announced she was running for president in 2020 herself and began campaigning for the white house - when in reality she was hoping to be bidens vp..... ....when that didn;t pan out and harris got it instead - she continued to work hard to help biden get elected, but then soon after bidens popularity began to fall she remade herself as a conservative once again.... started talking trump policies again..... even filled in for tucker carlson on fox news a few times....

there is more.... but bottom line is i don;t trust her anymore... . i think as soon as she thinks it will boost her career or give her a bigger image she will flip back over to being a liberal democrat again.... maybe even a socialist.... who knows.... .

I don't think there were any winners. They all seemed to have been sitting in judgement of President Trump, but, when asked if they would support him as the nominee if he should win, nearly all of them raised their hands, including the turncoat Pence. I could never support him if he won the nomination. He lost my respect a long time ago. Tim Scott came close to being the winner, IMHO.

That's really too bad! I don't really want her to be a conservative; just a liberal with principles and a conscience who actually cares about things that liberals claim to care about! I like what she has said about American intervention and "Regime Change Wars" but this also seems to be something that Trump is about! If she were to run as a Republican, I wouldn't believer her! I would rather she remained in the Democrat party where perhaps more Democrats would perhaps become more like her rather than marching "Lock Step" to the socialist establishment that the Democratic party has become!

i put her in the same category as all others who are talking conservative now.... and who even talked conservative prior to 2020... but who did their part to undermine trumps reelection campaign in 2020 - and even did things to sabotage his administration when he was president.... i consider nikky haley in that same group..... as well as all the 3rd party candidates and supporters... - who had a chance to support the reelection of a true conservative president but threw it away .... ... i don;t care to hear what any of them have to say about being conservative now..... ... they are a part of the reason we are living under this socialist woke nightmare now in the first place... and as far as i am concerned they can shut up and pretend to like it......

I'm sorry to hear this. I am not familiar with her except seeing her a few times on Fox and I was aware of her when she ran for the nomination. But she seems more level headed than the others. I feel about Lindsey Graham the way you feel about her.

i agree with you 100% about lindsay graham.... he;s one who in my opinion typifies the kind of republican i was talking about a few months ago... who will do whatever he can to keep his own seat but sabotages his fellow republicans chances of winning.... ..and the reason is he and other republicans like him don;t really want their party as a whole to win and be in control of anything.... ..they would rather be chronic 2nd place finishers and then fund raise off the losses.....

a few people thought i was out to lunch when i wrote that..... but if conservatives will look at the records of some of these guys they will see i am right..... ...they want the other party to be in charge so they will always have griping and complaining rights.. but no responsibility.... ... and then guilt trip their constituents into sending in the cash.....
