Tom Makes the Reagan Review!

...which will bother some people who probably won't even bother to read the book before overreacting against it.

But beggars can't be choosers. I'm glad for good reviews wherever I get them. Got five good ones yesterday, four online and one privately via email. I think people are seeing the heart of what I wanted to communicate rather than just the sensationalism of it, and I'm cautiously optimistic.

Actually quoted you in it too, though not by name. Regarding part of a conversation we had at Cracker Barrel.

The stories are true but the names are changed to protect the innocent!  :P

I'm reading through it with my wife (and, perhaps later, to kids).  We are in the first part about the good things.  Human nature wants to read the bad things, but we are reading through everything.

Can you post a link so we can read the reviews?

Thanks!

By this post, I assume that Reagan is not an IFB and therefore his good review will be considered a bad review by IFB true believers?  :)

No, he is. He's just a different stripe than me in some respects. And he's been very open about what he disagrees with and has thus made quite a few people mad.  And his good words will bother some of my friends.

...but he's still not as bad as a Southern Baptist.  :D

Oh, he's alive?

I thought  it was some "conservative" publication named for a dead President.

Let me make a guess or 3:
His wife wears pants?
He has a screen and projector and/or drums in his building?
He once read a book in which the author quoted the ESV?

  :D

I would plead guilty to all 3 and yet I found Tom's book to be an excellent and worthwhile read!
I just find it 'humorous' that in the world of IFB true believers, everything is complicated.

And I do not intend 'true believer' to be a pejorative...merely a descriptive term.

What chapter?

I'm thinking the one on prophets maybe? Don't remember at the moment... It was your statement that our kind of preachers have a s-p-i-n-e, or something to that effect.
