Those remind me of the bourbon balls which my coworker used to bring to the workers Christmas party (on site, at a facility that was VERY heavy on rules and security against alcohol consumption of any kind).

I miss mainly one thing from the years I spent living in residence at university: the chef in my building was Hungarian, and he had a stash of high-quality liquor from Europe. Every Christmas there was a banquet, and we were treated to some very, very good rum balls.
