Trump wants to go to heaven.

Unfortunately he continues to demonstrate confusion over how a person will make it to heaven.

Pray (as for all) the blinders be lifted.

Part of my testimony is that about two years before the Holy Spirit opened my eyes and I received the gift of salvation, I knew for certain that I wasn't going to make it on my own merits. To this day, I don't know how I knew that as a fact, other than the Holy Spirit revealing it to me. But it was knowledge I had before I finally figured out how Christ's death on the cross was the basis of my salvation. BTW, I didn't realize Jesus was God in the flesh until almost two years after I got saved. Once it was explained to me however, I accepted it as fact. Chalk that up to the Holy Spirit as well.

I had a very, very similar experience. Praise His name for the conviction of the Spirit, power of his word, and witness of his church!

Best Trump thread ever.

[Franklin] "Graham continued, 'We do get to Heaven by good works—not by our own good works, but by the perfect work of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, when He came to earth, took our sins to the cross, shed His blood, died, was buried, and God raised Him to life on the third day.'

"'We all have the promise of eternal life if we repent of our sins, trust Him by faith, and make Him the Lord of our lives,' Graham added. 'That’s how one gets to Heaven—not by our good works, but by His.'. . .

"Evangelist Justin Peters also commented on Trump’s hopes of getting into heaven. 'How sad that after being exposed for many years to some of the most high profile "Christian" preachers in the country, Mr. Trump still does not understand the Gospel (nor does Benny Johnson),' Peters said.

"Peters criticized church leaders in Trump’s inner circle: 'All these “prophets” like Paula White, Kenneth Copeland, [Jentezen Franklin], Che Ahn, etc. giddy over their access to the White House (and men who know these to be false prophets but choose to endorse them or at least turn a willful blind eye to them – I’m looking at you Robert Jeffress and Jack Graham and others) have done Mr. Trump no favors whatsoever.'"

I am certain that Justin Peters has made a "personal plea" begging President Trump to repent and believe the Gospel! Hopefully, someone in President Trump's 'orbit' will see and bring it to his attention? I hereby nominate Justin Peters to replace Paula White as President Trump's "Spiritual Advisor!"

The American church (evangelical/fundamental/conservative) leadership has been mum on this going back to the moral majority days. While policy (abortion) was always the rallying cry, it was obvious to me that the closer they got to power the less they had to say about the eternal issues that are the core of the church's mission. Now with the church wedded (yoked you might say) to the GOP the party tells the church what to believe. Ronald Reagan was the first recipient of the church's adoration. Today he would be tarred with the RINO label. Where is the steadfast commitment to truth if it can be changed at any time? Orwell gets a lot of attention about 1984 but what I have witnessed is more along the lines of Animal Farm.

As for Mr Trump, Dr. James Dobson claimed in the lead up to the 2016 election that he was present with Mr. Trump when he made his salvation prayer to Christ. It apparently didn't give him any sense of security if he is still "hoping" that he gets in to heaven.

Big Problem is that his "spiritual advisor" Paula White is a quack
No, his "big problem" is that his a narcissistic power-hungry political pragmatist (a sinner) who won't heed the gospel until he humbles himself before the One who already (in the past years) has given him plenty of credible and effective gospel witnesses.

His "problem" would be the very same one we ALL had until saved by the grace of God

True, we had to humble ourselves as well. My statement wasn't saying that I am better or smarter than him. I was addressing your point that he surrounds himself with people that are wacky on the gospel. But he has had people that are solid in their theology talk with him. The Bible says God resists the proud. Trump oozes pride, and no amount of proper correct theological presentations are going to have effect until Trump swallows that pride.
