I'm surprised this is so.  Every school my kids have attended in 3 different states required vaccinations or they couldn't even show up the first day.

I don't know a whole bunch about it, but apparently, there is a variety of allowed exemptions between the different states.  In my state, I know for a fact that there is a religious exemption.  I don't know if that is the only allowed exemption.

A friend of mine recently relayed a story to me.  One of her children (and grandchildren) relocated to another state.  In the state they came from, the children were allowed to attend public school without vaccinations.  Under what sort of exemption I don't know.  But in the state they relocated to, the only allowable exemption is on religious grounds.  The truth of the matter is that this family does not reject vaccinations on religious grounds, but for other reasons.  I admire their integrity, because they are in the process of vaccinating their children.  They told the truth when it would have been so easy to claim an untrue "religious" exemption.
