Voting Alignment: Christian or Policy

Okay, okay, so Paxton is really Mr. Wonderful after all. Even assuming that the accusations made against him by his own party were all lies, was it really wise to nominate a candidate who generates such a negative reaction among Republican voters? And why is Paxton getting only 44% support from those who voted for Cornyn in the Republican primary?

Talarico leads Paxton in first Texas Senate poll after GOP runoff

"Another key finding was that Paxton did not gain prospective voters who voted for Cornyn in the runoff. Nearly a third — 30% — said they would vote for Talarico, while 44% would vote for Paxton. The remaining 23% are either undecided or say that they will not vote. Among the GOP runoff voters who plan to support Talarico, 51% cite Paxton's criminality or corruption as their primary reason."

Apparently in this case, loyalty to Paxton, come what may, is more important than holding that seat for the Republican Party, and Republican control of the U.S. Senate. Okay, whatever. If our Prime Directive is "voting for the person who holds correct policies," then Cornyn has held to correct policies and would have continued to do so, and he would have been more electable than Paxton, but I guess that doesn't matter.

MSN?
Seriously?
Next you'll be quoting Jill Biden.

I guess it doesn’t matter to Texas voters that Cornyn is for open borders, a state that has been impacted more than almost any other state by the illegal alien invasion promoted and paid for by the Biden administration. Cornyn is supported by the Evangelical Immigration Table, a group linked to George and Alex Soros’s Open Society Foundations, and which has a record of backing amnesty for illegal aliens living in the United States.

I guess it doesn’t matter to Texas voters that Cornyn defended the lawfare against President Trump while defending Jack Smith who was trying to put Donald Trump in prison for 20 years.

I guess it doesn’t matter to Texas voters that Cornyn funded the Islamic group linked to the planned Texas Muslim Community in Plano Texas which has ties to terrorism and the Muslim Brotherhood.

I guess it doesn’t matter
to Texas voters that Cornyn voted alongside Democrats to get red flag laws passed which would deny law-abiding citizens their right to purchase firearms by circumventing the Constitution’s due process protections.

I think Texas voters made the right choice.

Very tragic application of this passage.😞
You can't stand against something and be a part of it at the same time. Of course, if a person believes America is a righteous nation and still being blessed by the Lord, I can understand why they'd be opposed to this application. God repeats it in Revelation 18:4 when He tells his people to come out of Babylon, which I believe is the USA, but that's another issue.
God has never allowed his people to be part of anything that is wicked.
He let Joshua lose a battle once because Achain stole a Babylonian garment. They were commanded never to have anything to do with wickedness.
How much a person wants to be involved in the affairs of the USA is up to them.
But according to Ephesians 6:12, one of the things that is out to destroy us is "spiritual wickedness in high places." In other words, wicked rulers who have nothing to do with Godliness or righteousness..

After a lot of soul searching and prayer, several years ago, I aligned my life with 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 and stopped voting.

17:Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18: and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Finding the right politicians is like finding a clean spot in a freshly laid cow patty.
So Christians should have no input as to who our representatives are?
