2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target +Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world's largest private employer, and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.

8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans… Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature

It is now official that the majority of you are corrupt and ineffective:

a.. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 237 years to get it right and it is broke.

b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 77 years to get it
right and it is broke.

c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 74 years to get it right
and it is broke.

d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 48 years to get it right;
$1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the
poor" and they only want more.

e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 47 years to get it right and they are broke.

f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 42 years to get it right
and it is broke.

g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 35 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our
throats while overspending our tax dollars.
AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM??

Folks, keep this circulating. It is very well stated. Maybe it will end up in the e-mails of some of our "duly elected' (they never read anything) and their staff will clue them in on how Americans feel.
AND
We have lost our minds to "Political Correctness"
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're "broke" & can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,???????????

In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , Japan and Turkey .And Pakistan ........previous home of Bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no extra aid nor do they get any special breaks--nadda beyond shopping discounts...

AND Congress wants to freeze Social Security payments...

You do know that Congress voted themselves a pay raise for 2013??? Google this--it's true!!!

#5 is not true at my Walmart, Good luck TRYING to find someone that speaks English or is willing to help you

BIG PROBLEM! WALMART PUTS THE LITTLE AMERICAN GUY OUT OF BUSINESS AND PAYS EMPLOYEES PEANUTS.

So should the government intervene and limit their profits in favor of the small business?

Good question. Limit profits, probably not. But, maybe the little guy needs some assistance to be more competitive and die fighting. I believe the real issue is the mindset of the consumer, the convenience, and the aggressiveness of Walmart. This goes for Amazon and other big companies also. They know full well they are hurting the little guy, but the consumer also knows shopping at their store will hurt the little guy as well.

The intervention I would suggest is low, or no, taxes for these small mom and pop businesses. Perhaps the owner can benefit from personal tax exclusion as a business owner. This, and a country wide "shop small and local" campaign focusing on the value would be nice. Perhaps the government could pay for their store rent, to help them and the local economy for more vacant buildings. This all sounds like a handout, but helping mom and pop sure is an ethical thing to do if you allow big brother (say Walmart) to grow.

That all said, perhaps the government should intervene and limit the cheap imports, low wages, and other crimes stores like Walmart commit. Hold them to a standard for their employees at least.

I suppose one could limit more where a Walmart can be built. And, regarding online merchants ... maybe enforcing sales tax is a good idea.

On a personal level, I agree with you. However, it goes against Republican values: every man for himself. If my small business gets eaten up by losing out my customer base to a more wealthy business, then I either didn't do something right, was too lazy to be competetive, and am getting what I deserve. That is the way with capitalism. I'm NOT saying socialism is a better choice by any means. What I am saying is that with a capitalistic form of government, given competition there will always be "losers". Survival of the fittest (or wealthiest)...

I agree, this is the way with capitalism. But, I work currently for a die-hard republican who has no issue squashing the little guy ... the dog-eat-dog can be criminal at times ... and while the drug user gets time in the slammer, it seems a shame that some get away with crimes far more hurtful than using drugs. But, that is just me and I guess I expect all to be good Christians.

Ask the people where that's been done and see how they feel.....Cuba, North Korea....formerly China....but they are opening their economy to capitalistic principles so it can survive....and it's working for them.

Communism and socialism only work on paper....NEVER have they had success in real life.

Where did I say otherwise? (governmentally, of course. ;) )

WalMart's profitability is artificially propped up by the government providing the services that the employees can't afford with the pay they receive. Most WalMart employees are eligible for Medicaid, housing assistance, food stamps, reduced school lunches. And yes, this includes those who are full time workers.

Right/wrong? idk but it isn't some brilliant business mind that says "hey let's build our business with indirect government subsidies for our workers keeping our payroll low". Corpfare anyone?

What should shelf stockers get paid?
How about people who collect up shopping carts?
What about they who sell the watches at the jewelry department?
What about the guy/gal who greets you at the door?
These are hardly skilled labor.
You could pay them all $12 an hour and they'd still be poor in today's economy.
With fuel, food and lodging prices the way they are, $12 and hour just aint making it.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people

Only one of which is at an open register at any given time.

Ain't that the truth.

I was in Wal-Mart yesterday and they literally had about 25 check-out lanes (not including the 6 self check-out lanes) and only 2 were open. The lines in those two lanes snaked back into women's clothing and the jewelry department. The lines at the self check-out lanes were just as long, especially since 2 of the selfie lanes were out of order.

I don't mind shopping at Wally World, but sometime the lack of cashiers can be more than a little frustrating.

I have walked into Walmarts maybe twice....I have 2 Walmarts within a few miles of me...I have transported more injured workers from Walmart with horror stories ...I shop at Publix a private owned company. I also found Gordon food services which is a lot like Sams Club with no entrance fee. Did I say I hated Walmart ...I love Big Lots, Family Dollar...They just opened the outlets within a mile of me but I haven't gone yet. I haven't been to a big mall in years :)

I find myself shipping at Dollar General more often lately.

How?  SKILLED LABOR!!  you pay a person based on their skill set.

Sounds cruel to some but would YOU pay someone 15 an hour to flip burgers or push baskets?
