Wal Mart Vs. the Morons...

It seems to me that Walmart is doing an excellent job at being what they are: a for profit retail business.

They employ people who otherwise would be unemployed.
They provide merchandise that people want/need at a good price.
They also open smaller stores in rural areas, providing a service to the locals.
They do what they do at a profit....or else they couldn't continue doing it.
And, they do it well!

BTW, many of the same things apply to ANY successful enterprise.
I thought only political liberals were critical of success....

Band Guy, I have made no comment in support of raising the minimum wage.

Over the last few days:

I did point out that many WalMart employees are college educated. This was to point out that "WalMart employee" and moron are not synonymous as many here seem to believe.

I did point out that college is much more expensive than it once was.

I did show the disconnect between what people say they believe and what they do (participating in the"good" parts of Obamacare that one likes while disparaging the law as a whole).

I have made the argument that the language used in these discussions (deadbeat, moron, baby daddy et al) are totally ungodly and worthy of rebuke. When professed believers let their political leanings take them down the road of disparaging image bearers of God, it is right and proper to call foul.

And I have apparently stepped on toes causing uncontrolled knee-jerk reactions.  :)

Not really.... you're pretending the take the high road... .when in reality..... a smiling, nice, sunny disposition.... doesn't make one right with God!!!! ;)

Get it?

Are you one of those people that suppose "a smile and gentle wave"... equals = Godliness?

Some of the worst people I've ever known will smile at you while they are stabbing you in the back...

Sorry. I don't believe you're honestly taking the "high road". Your questions are meant to stir up responses. You're looking to get what you've received. You intended to play the "knee jerk" card the entire time.

You haven't trapped anything. I'm not crying foul over someone calling someone else a deadbeat. I happen to believe a deadbeat is a deadbest. Just like Paul saying a man that will not take care of his OWN HOUSE is worse than a infidel.

Sorry. Your political correctness doesn't equal the "disdain of God".

A deadbeat is a deadbeat. I can agree with that. Insisting that using such language to describe people you don't like or disagree with politically is acceptable for a child of God is another thing altogether. Approving of a Christian leeching off of one part of Obamacare while decrying another person benefiting from it because they are a deadbeat leech is a case study in hypocrisy. Obviously if you are on the teat you are in no position to insult the guy sucking on the one next to you.

We have no CHOICE to benefit where it benefits. ITS THE LAW.

Its entirely dishonest for you to say that we have no right to question Obamacare because there MIGHT BE .....SOMEWHERE..... we benefit from it. The negatives greatly out way the positives.

Its very telling the way you make such claims/demands. Only a idiot would make such an argument.

You're the one demanding a net "postive". I think everyone you're disagreeing with isn't seeing a "net positive".

What happened with those "shades of grey". I knew you really weren't being honest. You don't see any shades of grey. If you say anything against it.... then you're seeing things in black and white...

In 2012 3.6 million Americans earned at or below* the federal min. wage of $7.25 per hour.

*The presence of a sizable number of workers with wages below the federal minimum does not necessarily indicate violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act, as there are exemptions to the minimum wage provisions of the law

2012 department of labor data.

In 2012, 75.3 million workers in the United States age 16 and over were paid at hourly rates, representing 59.0 percent of all wage and salary workers. 1 Among those paid by the hour, 1.6 million earned exactly the prevailing federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. About 2.0 million had wages below the federal minimum.2 Together, these 3.6 million workers with wages at or below the federal minimum made up 4.7 percent of all hourly paid workers.

Since I don't think I used any of those words to describe the general employee population of Wal Mart, I'm not sure as to whom you're referring.  Perhaps, you're just trolling with irrelevant absurdities to distract from the actual topic of the conversation.

Again. You're being entirely dishonest by claiming that because someone has to use Obamacare because its the law.... it means they are benefiting from the law and THUS.... can't saying anything negative about it.

I hate Obamacare. Its stupid and it doesn't matter to me if 100 million people are getting the kids enrolled under their family plan. I say repeal the entire thing. Throw it in the garabage and give everyone a choice.

Now... I know you don't care one thing about choice. You want to make everyone's choice for them. Just like the good little democrap you are.

Last year when it was still a choice whether to buy or not to buy, people were putting their adult "children" on their work policies (note that the employers got no choice). This year, now that having insurance is mandated, people are making the "choice" to keep (or add) their adult "children" to their work policy. This has been characterized as "good" right here on the good old forum. It is there and has been defended.

You have accused people of being on the teat. I am merely pointing out that the one on the teat is in no position to say that another should not enjoy some teat time themselves. Now why don't you man up and point out that those folks are taking from you by leeching off of the government (or more accurately, mom's employer).

Better yet, if you hate the ACA like you say you do, why not lead the civil disobedience movement that refuses to comply? Man up with that black and white, right and wrong you are so convinced is correct.
