Was Crucifixion Worse than This?

What did Christ agonize about in the Garden? Was it the torture, or something else?

Following the train of thought you're laying down, Christ's prayer, "If there is any other way, let this cup pass from me..." Was a sign of cowardice.

Let me rephrase the question:

Then were those who faced worse tortures without sweating blood in the foreboding thereof braver than He?

I don't think Christ gave the torture any thought at all. I think it was the curse. Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Have there been? Care to name several just for case in point?
I don't think there's any question that many have. There are some pretty horrific things in the OP, and Foxe wrote of those who were flayed alive and burned at the stake.

Have there been those who have suffered more physically than Jesus?
If I said “yes,” what difference would it make? If I said “no,” what difference would it make? It’s a question with no empirical (or even spiritual) answer. I will give you credit though, it might be the most odd question I’ve ever seen on this forum, especially when juxtaposed with a cartoon video about Japanese POW torture.

It's possible that there are some who could have suffered a lot..but, how many have been beaten with a cat on nine tails with broken glass, rock, metal, wood, and other things on it for the prescribed 39 strokes after having the ever living tarnation beaten out of them, having a crown of six inch thorns beaten down on their head by canes (poles) to where they pierced the brain, and was then forced to carry their own item of execution weighing more than any human without being God could carry....Then being nailed to that cross...Sorry, I won't discount what Christ suffered as the God man.

Not true. The question would be, what was it that distressed the Son of God so? I don't think He feared the nails, or the spear, or the lash, or the pain.

If indeed it was the torture that He feared, then yes it would have been.

The forum needs me! :D

I do not believe anyone can compare the physical suffering they endure to the suffering Christ endured. Could some suffering physically exceed that of the physical suffering of Christ? Hard to imagine but I suppose it's possible. I don't see anything in the scriptures that emphatically states His suffering must exceed anything we could be subjected to. But we know Christ's suffering went way beyond the physical aspect. In fact, I don't think His physical suffering can be separated from the emotional or spiritual suffering He endured. It's a package deal. Therefore, His suffering can never compare to anything we can imagine. Think of it: the Son in eternal fellowship with the Father suddenly being forsaken as all our sins are laid upon Him. Will we ever endure such a thing? (I ask rhetorically)
Jesus even asked James and John, "Are you able to drink the cup I am about drink?" Implied answer being no.
