Watched the movie "Risen" recently

[ALAYMAN]

I'm not much of a movie watcher.  Too much junk comes out of Hollywood for me to sit down and waste 2 hours of my time, but was intrigued by the reviews of Risen so I thought I'd give it a try.  ALAYboy watched it with me and had lots of questions, so it served a good teaching purpose too.  The narrative is told through the eyes of an unbelieving Roman soldier who is tasked with ensuring the Jews don't steal the body of Jesus from the tomb of Joseph.  When the body disappears he is then charged with recovering it and punishing those who took it, as well as putting down any insurrection from the wannabe conquering Jews and their "messiah myth".  One of the best Christian movies I've ever seen.  Way better than Passion of the Christ.  Highly recommendable.

Have you watched it?  What did you think?

I had seen the previews on it and had not watched it yet. But I will now since you gave it a good review.
Thanks

I'm not much of a reader, so the movie had to suffice.  :-\

Well, it's official, you know less about humor than you do barbecue!

How's that for a low blow?

Just watched the movie. One of the best movies dealing with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Followed the scriptures pretty accurately.

Really glad you enjoyed it.  I generally don't buy movies (with any intent to re-watch them), but this is one that makes me reconsider.
