Watched the movie Sergeant Rutledge the other day

One of my favorite western. Woody Strode is a fine actor, was a track and football star at UCLA.

The court martial scene reminded me of some on this forum with the swearing in of the Colonel's wife. The Colonel's wife is asked to take the stand. This is the following

Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth,

and nothing but the truth, so help you God, ma'am?

Is that the King James version of the Bible?

Do you swear to tell the truth... - I don't swear on anything
but the King James Bible. - Do you swear to tell the truth...

By the way if you watch the movie the Colonel's wife should be someone familiar to you. Billie Burke, remember her?

Ok, she played the good witch on the Wizard of Oz. Sergeant Rutledge was her last movie role.

Woody Strode is one of my favorite character actors. He plays Pvt. Franklin in Pork Chop Hill with Gregory Peck. Good flick.
