A friend did a Google search of our church and this website came up. How we got there, I have no idea. I contacted them and asked that they remove our listing.
I?m sure they don?t want us there either.

Is YOUR church listed?

Mine is listed.

It has a screenshot of our old website.  Not sure how they created their database.

I'm King James Only so I am glad to be listed.

This man did the work.  It's taken him literally years.

We are indebted to him. Such a comprehensive list of heretics can only make Sundays better for the rest of us.

He still has some work to do, I guess.
Our church has evidently been listed there awhile...and we have never been KJVO.

Reading comprehension issue?

Why does ?KJV Churches? have non-KJV churches listed?

I wrote them because I am NEITHER KJVO or IFB!
I may have to report this to Don Boys.

OK.  Calm down.

This is getting serious!

Denying scripture makes someone a heretic.  A different view on inspiration and preservation makes us Christian Brethren who disagree.

It amazes me that the same crowd the crucifies IFB's for their intolerance, legalism, and unbiblical attitudes feel justified turning the tables around and acting the same way as if they are righteous enough to "throw the first stone."  I get it, IFB's have behaved very badly (and some still are.)  Your rhetoric is just as bad though.

KJV-only could just mean the preachers use only the KJV Bible. It doesn't mean the whole congregation does or that it is forced on them.

When KJV-onlyism is treated by its proponents as a cardinal doctrine of the faith worth separating over, and it is given a  prominent place in a church's doctrinal statement (usually right at the top), then it is not just "a different view." If they want to treat KJV-onlyism as a central doctrine of the faith, then I'm going to judge their faith as though it is a central doctrine, and I judge them guilty of heretical bibliology.

To say nothing of the horrendous doctrines that come about as a result of it (Spamderson's claim that the KJV is God, for example).

What's nuttier?

That Anderson would say such a thing?

Or that someone would judge others based on if he did say it?

Who judges any other group based on anything Anderson says?

If Anderson said it, he is a heretic.

I didn't say others were guilty of Anderson's heresy (though he was not  the first KJVer I ever heard deify the KJV). I leave guilt by association to the KJV-onlyists who try to tie modern Bibles to the Jehovah's Witnesses or Satanists or whatever based on superficial similarities of phrasing or the like. That doesn't make them heretics. It just makes the genuineness of their faith suspect, since they are brazen liars.

For the 50th time...

In my opinion, there are 2 kinds of Bible believers:

1. Those who believe God must have given us a perfect (define how you please) Bible that is still available to us today in a final, understandable form.  Hence, the KJB.

2. Those who believe God inspired the original writers and that a perfect Bible still exists in the multitude of preserved manuscripts.  Through diligent study we can determine what the original writers transcribed by comparing, contrasting, accepting, and eliminating various differences.

Although I hold to the first option by faith, logic, and study, I still consider those of the 2nd opinion true Bible Believers and in no way inferior to myself.

Others take the KJV only position to crazy levels.  On this, we agree.  But believing in a single, God ordained translation is certainly not "heresy."

What about it? Repeat it 5000 times, and you're still not the pope of KJV-onlyism.

I judge their beliefs not against the standard of your opinions of what "must have" occurred, but against Scripture. Against God's word, KJV-onlyism is weighed and found wanting.

The only KJVO I?ve seen referenced as a heretic is Anderson.
I am not KJVO. As a younger Pastor, I did significant, sincere research on the subject and cameto the position I now hold. You, and some others here seem like reasonable sound men. But in my experience you are in the minority of KJVO?s.

Most KJVO?s always lead with that issue and define us as Bible deniers, among other things.
I have had many, many folk visit our church (mostly Christians relocating to our area) ask me if we were KJVO. Almost always they are people who seek to flee that ?lunacy?.

Honestly, I don't understand your opposition.

We both believe in Inspiration and Preservation.  God gave us his Word and God ensured that his Word is still available today.  I believe it is preserved in the KJB and you believe it is preserved in the original manuscripts (or somewhere else.)  Neither of us believe that God preserved his Word in "multiple translations" because they disagree with one another.  I understand you not wanting to have my view "forced" upon you or be derided for a different belief, but your hostility over an opinion is confusing.

I do seek to bring "soundness" to this issue amongst the folks who are also KJ.  I wince at their fanaticism as well, but I can't throw out the "baby with the bathwater."  I would rather "reform" the King James position than abandon it.  I will also not criticize those who use other translations, as long as they are honestly seeking God's Word.
