For you, personally, what are, or have been the greatest benefits of coming to know Christ?

For me, it is several things.

One is knowing that my sins are forgiven.
Another is the people I have come very close to, who I will spend eternity with.
The joy of worship.

Probably the biggest: When trouble comes, deaths, cancer, I am confident that God is sovereign over these things, and Romans 8:28 and Romans 8:32 are true.

28. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,[h] for those who are called according to his purpose.
32. He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

My daughter in law went through cancer treatments in 2022, and was supposedly cancer free. Last Friday she was told that her blood work reveals that it is probably back.

Absolutely.

I've known all the verses that speak of God's sovereignty and grace but never known what they meant until after years as a believer I've been put into a place of sole dependence on these concepts.

I can't imagine what a non-believer would do in such situations. I'm not creative enough to gin up enough positive thinking to get me through the rough times. I see people do it all the time but they invariably fall back on some fragment of biblical thinking even if they aren't completely surrendered to His sovereignty.

So, again, Bob, you've nailed it. The grace of God is by far the greatest benefit of the right kind of faith.

Oh my. 😞

🙏🙏🙏
Prayers for healing for sure. Prayers also for grace. Regardless of the outcome, may His grace be your ultimate comfort.
🙏🙏🙏

Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
