You’d have been pretty young when that video came out…I think. It looks like I was just barely shy of 12 years old when it first popped.i heard it... and saw it ... when it first appeared on mtv.... .. i was not a fan.... not of the style of music or the "dance".... angry little boys with attitude ....... but it was the finger shoved in the camera lens as if he was pointing directly into viewers faces that was a huge and immediate turn off for me. .. i didn;t even watch the rest of the video.. .. .... and after that it became one of the growing list of songs/videos that the moment any of them came on i changed the channel to something else......

correction to my other post...... turns out i didn;t see it when it first came out.. ..i didn;t live in a house with cable tv until i moved here to hawaii when i was 10... ...and then sitting indoors watching tv was something we hardly ever did.. ...so when i first saw that video it had probably been out for years already - but it was new to me.... and like i said.. i hated it.......
there are a lot of things people from the mainland remember about their childhoods and teenage years that just didn;t happen for us over here in the islands...... but i don;t feel like i missed out on anything...

Not on the stations I listened to.
No cable TV in my house either. I just remember the song. It was around that point in my life when I was first discovering music.i didn;t see it when it first came out.. ..i didn;t live in a house with cable tv until i moved here to hawaii when i was 10... ...and then sitting indoors watching tv was something we hardly ever did ... i didn;t see that particular video and no doubt many other popular ones from that time either - until they had been out for quite a while... maybe years.... ... but i don;t feel like i missed out on anything...

it seems to have had a significant effect on you at an impressionable time in your life.... .... there is nothing wrong with that.... it;s just that we all grew up with different experiences... .. for me it was growing up half way around the world on an island - and in a very different culture ..... ... i do rmember the song... just not in the same way you do.. ..i know i never heard it before seeing it first on mtv.... and i have realized it was already several years old by then.... .....it wasn;t the kind of music i enjoyed listening to....
