What are you listening to right now?

This is the music I grew up with. It was always in the background. As I’ve said I grew up on family land and still to this day live here and have raised my family here as well. We are in each other’s homes through out the week and always on the weekends. It does my heart good to know that my children know their cousins, aunts, uncles, second cousins, great aunts and uncles intimately as I did mine.

With of course good Cajun music in the background.

Two years ago, Mrs. abcaines and I visited Lafayette. We toured the Tabasco factory at Avery Island, learned about Acadian history and ate marvelous food we'd never tried. (She didn't care for the boudin, I wasn't thrilled with the cracklins we had) I had the best red beans and rice I ever had at Avery Island. We met fellow CMA folks... We want to return but not when the humidity is so opposite. We drove to Dallas and it felt dry by comparison.

That’s awesome! You wasn’t far from me maybe 45 minutes from Avery Island and maybe 10 minutes from Lafayette. My mom and dad grew up by Avery Island.
