I'm curious what type of views some of you have on God's divine action in creation.

In your view.... Did God take one single action in "originating" everything that exists.... or is it rather continuing action? The latter can be considered some type of "organization".

I'd have to say, God's not finished....

[H]e has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power...

And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together...

Present tense.

And, as I have stated, God is Being (as these verses show (and others) show). If God doesn't, you aren't. Likewise, if God didn't, you aren't...since God is always in all places and times and all actions are, thusly, "present tense" for Him. To be apart from God is to be apart from Being which is to not exist.

You didn't answer the question.

Present tense involves continuing action. Its not "one and done".  Will you thus admit you believe in a God's continuing action? Don't talk around the issue.

I did. Which is why you said... (underlined)

Seeing as how I'm not a deist, then yes.

I agree with what rsc2a said.

God created everything that exists, and continually sustains it.
And no, He isn't done creating, probably never will be.

What is God creating (ex nihilo) now?

Origination was finished on the sixth day. Holding everything together continues.

Yes, creation of the Earth finished on the sixth day (though I don't take that quite literally, favoring the framework interpretation ).  He only told us what's going on in our particular corner of the sandbox. But it's a big multiverse. Are new stars, new planets, new lifeforms coming into existence somewhere in it? I think so, and perhaps other things we can't even imagine.

What about the new creature?/creation?

Thanks for clarifying your statement.

You didn't use the words "continuing action". I asked about continuing action. Expecting me to be satisfied with "present tense" and "upholds" is rather silly. Such words may "imply" continuing action but "continuing action" is not their definition....

I'm not looking for an answer by implication. I want a straight answer. You try to wiggle out of everything.

Living in the sixth day and seventh day at the same time, ehh? Already and not yet?

I look forward to the time when the sixth day ends and it's nothing but Sabbath. (Although I still think creation will be very much a part of that time.) :)

God saw everything he had made. And it was very good. There was evening, and there was morning. It was day six. So the heavens and the earth and everything in them were completed. NIRV

Spiritual creation, but not physical.

Do both coexist?
