What should happen going forward

So looks like they are going to try to keep it going with a one room schoolhouse

K-4 through 2nd in a class
3rd through 6th in a class
All the HS in a class

With all of 3 teachers total and probably going to be in part of the college wing since they aint got nobody for college.

Wow!! how the mighty have fallen.  It is really sad to see happen.  Many good kids have graduated from WHBS.

Is Tom that full of pride that he cannot see the forest for the trees?  I guess he is.  Someone PM'd me and said that Vineyard's are so full of pride they will blow a hole wide open in the bottom of the ship (their personall actions already have done that).  Watch it sink to the bottom of the sea and then cry out how the world is out to get them for being the only ones standing for right.

Side note on teachers salaries --- I never understood why WH paid there staff so poorly!!  When my dad was on staff, he would be there till 7-8 at night -- sometimes later for games, practice, Ect. And I know he made peanuts!  He would get up every morning at 4 and deliver papers. On to of that all children were required to go to the school -- for which you had to pay. And the wives were "looked down on" if they had a job outside of WH. In fact, I don't think very many did.  Yet, they would have extravagant missions conferences and buy all the missionaries new suits and the ladies new dresses and the kids new shoes. Wish they had done that for the staff!!

I disagree with that way of doing things also, but I dont think they are unique in that. There was a lot of talk about low salaries in Hammond, and I know a Lancaster guy who had to live with 6 or so other guys in a house to make ends meet, salary of less than 20k for full time work plus being there for everything church related.

Low pay was a trademark of Bro. Hyles.
JV learned well from Bro. Hyles.
Our teachers at HB almost all had second and third jobs or businesses to support their families.
Bro. Hyles had convinced them they were serving the LORD so they didn't need a lot of money.
If they complained he'd say, "don't you trust God?"

I am so sorry that we sent JV away from Hammond without revealing publicly why he was let go.
I am sure you no longer have to wonder.

You can tell what kind of minisrty Bro. Hyles had by all the divorces in his immediate family.
We did the same with DH, sorry. You have my must humble apologies.

So, bgwilkinson, you hae posted before the same I'm sorry type post. You said they never revealed publically why Hyles let him go but say we all no longer have to wonder why.  I do not think that is quite true.

So why did Hyles let him go?

So why did Hyles let him go?

I second this question. Why? We were always told God lead him to OKC.

It would be interesting to know the circumstances behind his involuntary departure.

Here is an email someone forwarded me:

"This is the IFB Extreme System that I said is in place. Predators in the pulpit protect other predators in the ministry.  Rather than do the right thing and make it public what he has done so NO MORE VICTIMS are preyed upon, the predator is quietly moved to another state to set up the same system and abuse all over again. In this case, trained his sons to do the same.

It is a vicious cycle where the predator continues to make a fat income off the catatonic members and missionaries and the victims suffer in silence.  Oh let's not tell what he did for the sake of the church, for the cause of Christ and so on. How stupid! God wants the predators stopped.  Read Matthew 18. God is for the victims NOT the predators.

You deacons, secretaries, staff and members who have finally left that sad excuse for a "church," you better start telling what you know of the abuse and corruption at Windsor. By the way, First Baptist Hammond still has a responsibility to tell no matter how much time has passed. Just ask ALL of the victims of Jim, Tom and Paul if they wish they had known."

I am not sure about Heartland but I heard the school there was just for college students attending Heartland that had kids. I don't know if they have opened it up to other people other than Heartland students, they may have I am just not aware of it.

Ahhh did not know that.  I just assumed otherwise.  If they do open it up they would not have any attendence difficulties.

I found out today that Heartland is going to open its Academy for other people not going to the school there. This will be the first year they have opened it up to people other than Heartland students with kids.

YAY!!!!!  Will it include high school too? I certainly hope so.

At this point the school building has been closed up. I don't even think it is being used on Sunday's anymore. So they can "save" money. The school will be in 3 of the classrooms in the college wing of the church building.

It's a sad and happy day all wrapped in one

I am wondering if they are putting word out about the changes to the school  to the students from last year who were plannig on returning and paid that early registration fee in the Spring.

My 'guess' would be no. If people have already paid their early registration fee they would assume that they are still planning on coming to school there in the fall.

They will probably notify the incomig students and parents during orientation of the changes to the school. Then it would be to late to refund the parents the registration fee if they decided not to send their children there.

I am not sure what their policy is on refunds though. Usually once they have your money you never see it again.

As a parent I would be pretty upset about that.  The ol bait and switch is how I would see it.  The early registration fee has always been non refundable so that is not a big deal but the changes in the school would be for me.

Of course knowing the leadership their it would not surprise me a bit.

If they told them in advance that would give them time to find another school, if they wait they would get one more year out of them.
