There have been rumblings on the grapevine for several months that someone in very high places is leaving the college. About a dozen sources. Very reliable sources.

Person has been pastoring a church on the weekends. Six sources.

Word is the church had already voted to call him. Source, two friends at the church in question.

Of course our pastor knows.

Houses are for sale in the area, on Facebook, listed with well known Realtor. Saw it myself.

I believe college employees have been notified. Four sources on this one.

The members of the college corporation, however, the deacons and owners of the college, have not been notified publicly in the monthly meeting. Now they do know about it, they just haven't been properly notified.

Anyone else hear anything? I have held off saying anything as I was sure someone else would.

We have a running joke, if you want to know what's going on at FBCH look on FFF.

Will be interesting to see what develops.

After being there for nearly 20 years.... An employee in a "high place" could most likely leave without an issue. The nicer the office, the longer the title, the less actual work you do.

Yep, when the minions are doing the work you can disappear at will and not be missed.

I've heard rumors for about 2 years now. But, to me, that is all it is until I hear something solid. I have heard so many rumor the past couple of years that is is difficult to separate fact from fiction.

There is another possibility that some have posited.

This person may be able to maintain the appearance of staying while at the same time pastoring the church on the weekends. In name only at the college. They could still pull down their five figure salary and occupy the finest of offices as a phantom only.

We all know of others who have traveled extensively while maintaining an appearance of normalcy at the college. In the past some have appeared as seldom as once or twice a month to keep up appearances while maintaining no actual hands on as their title would suggest. They are pulling down a nice five figure salary plus benefits in addition to handsome speakers honorariums as our past pastors have so brilliantly done.

They could live in the town of the church in the new house and drive back to the college once in a while to give the appearance of a hands on very high level operative.

They could even appear in chapel from time to time to whip up the enthusiasm when it wains.

I guess this person could have the best of both worlds. Nice fat very high level college person's salary plus a nice fat pastor's salary at the new church. Hunting and fishing, going to baseball and football games, college and professional. We know of other great men of God who major on wild-game hunting, kind of makes a mockery of the LORD's work. Some eat massive amounts of food, you can't miss it.

Hay that would be quit a nice gig if you can get it. Even better if you can keep it.

What a great job hardly having to work at all.

Bottom line, maybe they are both leaving and staying, that would explain why this has been going on for several weeks, with no sign of an end or a change in sight.

We will know this week, if the owners of the college will be advised of this situation, so that they can perform their proper over sight function of advice and consent.

They say the grass is always bluer on the other side of the fence. It remains to be seen.

Well, who is it?  Stuart Mason?

I heard that Stuey was going to pastor somewhere. I have heard rumblings about Chris Teft for a few years now. I think they should ask Tom Vogel to come back and be the president and I think he should hold out for around $150,000.00 a year and benefits. Not a fan of how he was treated.

I think Bob Hooker is another one who was not treated right.

If we listed everyone who was treated unfairly it would be a very long list.

Not TV, CT or BH.

It's the one with the $200,000.00 office suite built for JS. Stuart Mason.
