My Mother in Law wouldn't tell me how to go to the bathroom, either.
Would yours?

Coffee is a qualified Army Ranger in the 6th Ranger Training Battalion. That means he successfully completed Airborne training, with a min. of 5 jumps. He has also completed Ranger training & will have likely made many more jumps since becoming an instructor. Anyone who jumps out of airplanes, in the defense of our nation, is a Hero to me.

I'm sure you have made great sacrifice in the defense of our nation since you feel qualified to decide who is a hero and who is not for the rest of us. Since when do I use Greek mythology to define words for me.

Since "hero" is a word that we get from Greek...

Carry on, you obviously know everything.

You can buy a domain online for a couple of bucks...
The value of your input is less than $.02

earnestly contend

You and Steve Anderson certainly know value when you see it.
Obsession isn't attractive, my dear.

earnestly contend

He's the leader of your generation, not mine.
He isn't in my generation...

earnestly contend

I said he was the leader of your generation.
On the bright side, if something should happen to him, your generation could replace him with any McDonald's employee.

But it sounds like fodder for a Babylon Bee article to me.

Well, the OP title didn't match the graphic: The OP asked "Who is your hero?" -- the graphic asked "Who is the real hero?" These are different.

If a hero is someone you want to be like, or imitate, I don't think that Christians should have heroes in this sense.  I see so many men trying to be like Jack Hyles, or some other person whom they admire, instead of just being the person God has made them to be.

If a hero is just someone one admires, then it's fine to have them.  I consider all who serve in the armed forces to be heroes in the second sense.

Walt, give me your Skype info and the next time I create a thread, let's get together and discuss all the particulars.  I'd appreciate your insight to reduce future confusion.

He's not a leader to me in any way shape or form.

I don't agree with him on church polity one bit.

He has many followers, online, around the globe.
He hosts soul-winning marathons in major cities, and has a good crowd at every venue. Not a crowd of curious people, but a crowd intent on getting the Gospel out that day.

I don't know why anyone would want to follow him, but I'm not in his generation, and I don't know what makes them tick.

He is a personal friend, and a man who I trained to radicalize IB's, that is all.

And that is the problem. He, like some IFB's, are looking at the gospel as a decision and not as making disciples who God wants to have an eternal relationship with.

If you trained him, you must be very proud.

Like I said, you are just commenting and have no idea what is being practiced.

I think Tina Turner may have said it best:

WE DON`T NEED TO KNOW THE WAY HOME
ALL WE WANT IS LIFE BEYOND
