Why John MacArthur became a Calvinist.

Are you speaking of me, I have plenty of self awareness, and I can tell you me and my flesh are at war with the new me, where I was once lost now I’m found by God, trough the conviction power of the Holy Spirit, man had absolutely nothing to do with my Salvation, Salvation is all of God or not at all. Trump is a sinful man as we all are, you included , but praise God he Chose me to Salvation and gave me to The Lord Jesus Christ, and he will keep me till I get home.
Are you Ekk?

Carl Hatch came to our church telling us Elvis Presley was in heaven because he lead him to the Lord in a bathroom at a airport somewhere, He may have but I have my doubts.

Didn't Hyles tell that same story? I get this picture of hordes of fundy preachers lying in wait in elevators hoping to ambush the King.

No!
I was not speaking of, to or for you.

When Jack met Elvis - here is the story, straight from the horse's mouth. (Not sure how this matches up with Elvis being converted by Carl Hatch in a bathroom - who knows how many apocryphal Elvis conversion stories are out there).

"On the way, however, she stopped the elevator, and Elvis Presley got on. He had on a green satin suit and at that time was in his heyday. I introduced myself to Elvis, we shook hands, and then I asked him, 'Elvis, do you know, if you died today, you would go to Heaven?' His answer was startling. 'I certainly do,' he said. 'I was saved when I was a child.' Then he proceeded to tell me the circumstances. As best I remember, he said that his grandmother or some other relative had taken him to hear an old-fashioned Gospel preacher. He had received Christ as his Saviour. He told me in clear, positive language of his salvation. I then looked him square in the eye and said, 'Elvis, how could a person who is born again live the kind of life that you are living?' He said, 'Jack, I got tired of the rules. I wanted to be free.' Need I say more? The very type of death that he died is living proof that though he thought he was leaving slavery to go to freedom; he was leaving freedom to go to slavery." —Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001)

For a negative review of Carl Hatch's evangelistic technique, see this:

"I say, 'Mr. Jones, if you want heaven as your home and Christ as your Saviour, pray this prayer. Lord Jesus.' And if he doesn’t repeat that and tries not to pray, I squeeze his shoulder. I use this technique. If I am dealing with the president of the bank, I take his hand and when it comes time for him to pray, I squeeze his hand. We’ve titled that the Carl Hatch squeeze. It works. If I am dealing with a woman, I ask her to put her hand on the Bible, and when it comes time to pray I just tap her hand gently. It works; it works.

"(The previous is from a Carl Hatch soul winning seminar at Texas Baptist University. Hatch was called the world’s greatest soul winner by Sword editor Curtis Hutson and by Jack Hyles.)"

So you think that’s the only change that is proof of salvation. Carl Hatch came to our church telling us Elvis Presley was in heaven because he lead him to the Lord in a bathroom at a airport somewhere, He may have but I have my doubts.
Where Elvis went is between him and God. However, when he passed away he was living with a woman who wasn't even his wife. I can think of a South Carolina politician who claims the name of Christ who joked about how her boyfriend tried to pull her back in bed but she couldn't "do it" because she would be late to a prayer breakfast. That is the kind of Christianity so prevalent today where there isn't even a hint of caring about what the scriptures teach. There are homosexuals and porn stars who claim to be Christians while some preachers will egg them on into hell thinking their "belief" which is no different than that of demons will save them on judgment day.

Any preacher worth his salt would have answered that by telling him, "Christianity is not about the rules, but a relationship with Christ..."

Carl Hatch was at our Church in San Diego and taught us this "Soulwinning Technique." I was super impressed with him the first time he was there but not so much the second time. He was the epitome of "Finneyesque" methodology and manipulation. He was not invited back a third time.

Oh me, and this “”Dr.”” really thinks they’re saved, I have my doubts about Hatch.

"Calvinism is the Gospel"........C H spurgeon

I always sorta liked 1 Cor. 15:1-4 myself.................. But that's just me :)

When you say proof, do you mean evidence or assurance?

There are a lot of things that can serve as evidence...repentance, belief, baptism, etc.

But none of those are God's seal on a soul.
