Will Smith has to go

The actions Smith took were supposed to look like that of a loving, caring husband. He's far from that by his own admissions in the past concerning their relationship. So, it sort of rings hollow that he even did this. Seems more like a rehearsed thing to me. Chris Rock is no hero of mine, and not someone I wish to care about concerning his jokes or opinions, the foul-mouthed twerp. His statements were in bad taste, which is something I've come to expect from him.

I haven't watched the oscars, emmys, or any other Hollywood hoopla for decades. I did see on the news what happened, and say that Rock crossed the line but humor at those roast-events often seeks to push the boundaries with wardrobe malfunctions and various other controversial bawdiness. It just typifies the spiral downward of our increasingly uncivilized civilization.

Why did Will use an open hand? Because everyone knows, paper beats rock.

I haven't seen what happened (but I've heard about it). I'm not really that interested in it... I do think it is very bad manners to poke fun at a woman's appearence, especially when it is due to a disease. Defending one's wife is good. Slapping someone? It could have been much worse, and I think most men would hit another man that was making fun of his wife... even if they weren't the best example of a good marriage.
