Women given honorary doctorates in IFB colleges?

Women don't count.  ;)

Neither do those bogus honorary degrees...how do the kawleges who don't have legitimate doctorates give out honorary ones?

The same institution has non Masters-level profs teaching those striving for BS/BA

And what would they do with such a degree, anyway?  They should put on a dress and make me a sammich.

The only degree a woman needs is a Mrs. degree!

My wife has a teaching degree from LSU. She is a stay at home mother and loves making me a sammich.

Maybe she can teach you how to make your own. ;)

That would go like this....

PWAAAAAHAAAAA!!!!  That's funny. I really did lol.

I really don't see the bruhaha over the honorary degrees. I think it is a pretty senseless waste of time but I am not in the position to dole them out. I would, however, probably take offense if I actually earned a doctorate and someone else came along and got one just for fun. Like that episode on Home Improvement where they gave one to Tim the Toolman.

Bible Colleges won't stop the practice. So, you are right... it is a moot discussion from that angle. If you think about it, ALL discussions here are pointless if we think we will change the IFB. We won't.

All we can do is share how some of us are responding to our past, those moving away from and those still entrenched in IFBdom.

The real questions are:
"Would you accept one?" and if you did, "Would you use the designation?"
"Are you informing the next generation who is choosing a college how to decipher the student handbook?" Having a faculty list full of Doctors looks pretty impressive until you learn that they, for the most part, are not earned.

Further, I think this thread reveals that women, in IFBdom, are not treated with the same kind of honor. It is easy to list the men who receive the honoraries... but not so easy for women.

There is a FAR better ratio of women actually EARNING doctorates than there are getting honorary ones.
