You average LGBTQ church

Everything else is forgivable, tolerable, and excusable but if he is a Calvinist.... he's OUTTA THERE!!!
In a distantly related manner, this reminds of a story of a guy I knew in law school named Mike who was from West Virginia. Mike was raised by his grandparents and was raised in one of those more conservative Pentecostal churches in the rural mountains. Mike was a few years older than most students, having already been in the Army and served a couple tours of duty in the Middle East.

After Mike came back from war, he informed his West Virginian grandparents that he was gay. Of course his grandparents were pretty upset about this news and not very affirming of his decision. They even contemplated cutting Mike out of their lives. After taking some time to assess their feelings on the matter, they ultimately decided to tell Mike that they disagreed with his lifestyle, but they’d continue to love him and support him. They said he could bring a boyfriend over to their house for dinner, but they would never allow another man to spend the night. Mike was accepting of this arrangement.

A few years went by and Mike had a few different boyfriends in and out of his life that he dated. His elderly grandparents kept their word and were always cordial to Mike’s dates whenever he decided to bring one over to meet them for supper. Then, one day, Mike fell in love with a man who, like him, had also been in the military and also served time at war. He was excited to bring his new boyfriend over to meet his grandparents, especially his grandpa, who was a veteran himself. But this time things took an unexpected turn for Mike and his grandparents kicked him out of the house and cut him out of their lives (at least for a few years). Mike had made the mistake of not only bringing home his gay lover for supper, but a black man at that. This was the straw that broke camel’s back! 😆

Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. They say they affirm the Apostles and Nicene creeds which are good but it would be better not to affirm them (not rejecting either) and just be a simple Christian who truly obeys Christ.

Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of evil!’

Luke 13:26-27
