I never kept up with Doug Fischer after I left the Marine Corps but did a search on YouTube and found his salvation testimony. At the 22:00 mark he tells about that Tuesday me and Roy Forsythe knocked on his door and gave him a gospel tract and receiving two other gospel tracts after that from our church which ultimately led him one night to falling down on his knees in tears asking for forgiveness.
I think this illustrates not only how powerful gospel tracts can be but also how even a bunch of nuts (and Ruckmanites are nuts) can be used by God. There are people in denominations you and I may have strong disagreements with but if souls are being saved through those ministries I praise God. I'm pretty sure the Gunnery he mentioned was Gunnery Vigil who was also a drill seargeant. Me and a couple of buddies would go over to his house and play RISK for hours.
