I Haven't verified the story but what I heard was that Charlie was wearing a bulletproof vest where he was initially struck. The bullet supposedly ricoched off the vest and into his neck where he was fatally wounded. If there is any truth to this, I think this underscores the fact that God's hand was in this and will be using Charlie's death to his glory.

OF course, one of the ways that God is glorified is in the way we conduct ourselves in the aftermath of Charlie's shooting! So far, no one is burning down their city...

For there to be no exit wound, much of the energy of the projectile would have had to have been absorbed by an initial impact other than the neck. A ricochet seems right.

Miracle? Reachin'.

Providence? Always.

This sounds to me like it came from the immediate vicinity in the crowd. Not from a distance. Judging by sound recorded and reaction time.

Remember right after when the Internet experts were saying the kill shot required uncanny skill and was clearly evidence of a professional hit?

First, a 200-yard shot with a common hunting rifle and adequate optics isn't extraordinary. Any decent hunter could do that.

Second, (not being a shooter myself) my untrained estimation is that Robinson's aim wasn't that great anyway, if what killed Kirk was a fluke ricochet.

I have no idea what level of vest he was wearing but they are generally designed for handgun projectiles at close range. The heavy duty versions designed for high velocity rifle rounds do not conceal well under a t shirt.

I suspect that you are correct about his aim. His history as a hunter would have conditioned him to aim for the center of the chest. Assuming that is where he placed the cross hairs, a 6-7 inch "miss" is still likely to be a kill shot. So not great but serviceable, obviously.

Actually, it's entirely possible he got lucky, but of course your conspiracy-laden worldview precludes the possibility of unintended consequences, doesn't it?

My guess is that if JFK had been struck by lightning, you'd insist Woody Harrelson's dad called it down on him from the grassy knoll.

In the US, I think our culture is naturally skeptical, and we have good reason to be, particularly with the checkered history of the CIA in previous decades. Even in more recent history, the story of Iraq and WMDs that was broadcast across televisions and newspapers across the nation, which turned out to be not credible at all. It’s very possible in Canada that citizens have a very different perspective of their government. Ransom and others might very well view Prime Minister Mark Carney as Big Daddy and King Charles as Grandaddy. 🤷🏻‍♂️
