Public Apology

And aleshanee would be the Music Minister, just to keep you Freebirds from playing AC/DC for the offeratory.

😁
Ha…actually, I somehow picture @aleshanee more in the capacity of a camp youth leader. Can you imagine how much fun teens would have with archery, diving, mountain biking, and wild boar hunting? I mean, we might lose a couple kids down a mountain or in the ocean, but everyone else who survives will have a blast! 😆

But if it were some sort of weird, alternative-universe church, would @Ransom be our pastor? I imagine @abcaines and @ALAYMAN as assistant pastors. @FSSL is the pastor emeritus, obviously retaining his title as a means to continue getting a salary. Of course @Ekklesian is that troublemaker sitting in the very last row at the back of the room. Everyone is praying that @AverageJoe will improve his church attendance. 😆

Sorry, had to have a little fun with this thread. 🫣
My attendance here is probably much like my attendance at ANY church in our area. I'm taking a period of recuperation from the silliness that is going on in the churches today, split after split, infighting, nepotism, cronyism. and such ilk! My wife has tired so of the attacks we've suffered for pointing out incorrect doctrine and standing with the the Word of God over their traditions of men. I probably would/could be like Ekklesian if I were here all the time. ;)

I was done with that place a long time ago. Jesusfan is experiencing what I did a year and a half ago. I just read some more of his dancing around direct questions. We all know that there are wel developed doctrines that don't have one verse, but come from a multitude of passages. He is doing what Cults do to the Trinity. "Show me a verse that says there is one God in 3 persons." But he does it with Penal Substitutionary Atonement. There are a few good guys there, but they avoid him. I decided to only come here and post.
Their Board was so much better when had multiple Mods on it, but think somer have now sadly passed away

I don’t understand why you guys are wasting time on that forum. It sounds like they’re manipulating you and playing psychological games, and then you get ecstatic when they don’t ban you.

How about just invest that energy in this forum?
Think many of us are just trying to put up the good fight and try to minimize any spiritual damage that he may be doing to those reading his reponses , or could just say "its predestined to remain"

Trying to do both at present time

Whatever floats your boat….

I understand how you feel. We’re in the process of church shopping right now. I think I’m permanently done with IFB churches. I might just be done with Baptist churches altogether.

Well, let me be the first to throw out the "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater" admonition!

I have been there, done that and it is far from being anything "fun" or "adventurous!"

Make sure you are stand on a firm scriptural and doctrinal footing and DO NOT let anyone cause you to stray from this!

Finally, please be mindful of how this affects your family! Your kids are watching and still quite impressionable. What you do now, they will take with them down whatever road they may choose to walk! I cannot overstress this last point!

Praying for you

Think that we Baptists though have the best view on biblical doctrines and practices, were the IBF churches you were with by chance KJVO?

I agree totally with your great post.

For the past 3+ years, I have served as a ‘consultant’ trying to help struggling churches.
I have also preached in 35 different churches…as a guest speaker, so I do have an overview of churches in our general area.
I have also been an interim for 4 different churches, 3 of which were dying. One of them, we merged with a church plant. The other 3, thank the Lord, have called Pastors and are doing very, very well. One of them was not a Baptist church, in name or tradition. The other 3 were.

My point is that all churches have issues, especially those who are old and steeped in traditions that are counter productive but even they can be helped. And, thank the Lord, the vast majority of churches are worthy of support.

Yes, I’d consider it KJVO. I don’t think they’re tyrannical about it. They don’t publicly shame someone for having a different version of the Bible, but the preaching is 100% KJVO.

Great advice. I definitely agree. There are issues at the church in addition to my family being kind of burnt out. I don’t want to publicly give away too much information because you never know who’s lurking online, but I’ll just say the church is going through a tough transition right now. We’ve probably lost half the church population over the past couple years.

😁
that;s right...... no ac/dc during the offeratory........ in fact ... the only music i
would authorize for the offeratory would be this .. .... complete with ushers doing

70s style ojays moves as they carried the offering plates up and down the aisles ....

:D:p;)

but i;m just kidding.... .... i might be a typical island kid in every other way - but i;m
very traditional and old school when it comes to church..... .still.... ..if we were going
to bring a rock band and dancing into the church - then why not just go all out and do
it right?...who knows.... it might bring in a record size offering....;)..

The Calvary Chapel I have been attending for the past 23 years has had its rough patches. Our pastor's personality has been known to rub some people the wrong way, especially in earlier days. My attitude has been, "whatever..." for the most part. But I'd be lying to you if I told I didn't think getting involved with another church. It's been a while since the last time that's happened.

Frankly, I can't imagine what other churches in this valley I'd join. I've become accustomed to expository teaching and our CC is the only church I'm aware of locally that has a strong commitment to such teaching.

My pastor is human and so am I.

i would be all for it... :)..... and remember i was in pre-med at the university and was also trained in emergency medical skills and life saving by a genuine and highly experienced paramedic... ... so as long as none of them got hurt too badly - i could probably patch them up....🏥.. ..... .....but if not.... . well..... 🙄

It seems that some comments I made has caused offense to several members on this forum. I am issuing an apology to @DrHuk&Duck, @Bob Jones VI, @Ransom, @JesusFan, @Ekklesian, @ALAYMAN.

I will be leaving this forum. I need to reflect on my attitude before I decide to join a discussion board again in the future.

God bless and take care.
well. ....i wasn;t a part of any of this.... so i didn;t get offended ..... .... but it;s always a blessing to read... (or hear).. ... a sincere heart felt apology.... :) . ... ...changed attitudes can change the world.... .. ...plenty of people leave and come back.... but if you do that...... please don;t go off and come back with a different name - hiding the person who were before....... come back with the same name and same avatar so we know who you are and can take note of the changes... .... .... it might be painful but it earns respect... ..... and that;s strong currency here.......

Our church has been without a head pastor for a long time. I’ll get into that subject more down the road. Like I mentioned to BR, I’m going to let a little time and distance go by before I elaborate. I have a lot of things I want to say and I’d appreciate getting some feedback from some of you guys on here, but I’m just not really ready to say much right now. I just know it’s been a mess and our church just isn’t the same church it was. We’re not completely detaching right now, but we’re slowly phasing out.

Weren't you shopping when you arrived on the FFF scene?
