JH had a problem with his voice. Binaca was STRONG. One drop on the tongue would open you up. Compare this to Spurgeon's elixir: water, honey, vinegar, lemon and as much cayenne pepper as you can. So, he used it to help his voice while preaching.
HACkers be HACkers and would mimic.
They sold it in the church book store. We would get the tall bottle of gold (strongest) and chug two or three of them before church on dares. As a kid... you felt happy after that little shot of alcohol - - - - - 1.5 oz of 180 proof Binaca made church really enjoyable.
These bottles ended up getting banned because kids abused the alcohol.
