    The Death of Prayer Meetings

I have only encountered this level of disrespect for prayer in Lancaster. No other (non IFB) church I have attended purposefully misuses prayer time in this way.

Does Anybody Remember When The "Killer Bees"(Including Tom Brennan)...

I hate it when pastors use their family members' very personal struggles as sermon illustrations. Parent FAIL for sure.

Dave Hyles and Jack Hyles' Passion for Sunday School

How horrible to attempt to give Dave Hyles credibility or influence! Bob Gray (TX) should be ashamed of himself....if he had any shame.

Should atheists be allowed to marry?

That is a silly symbolic law. So easy to work around it. Practically anyone could set up a "church" and start a lucrative career signing marriage docs. Easy-peasy. The courts are going to overturn it anyway.

9 Warning Signs Your Pastor May Be Building His Own Kingdom

Having had a pastor that clicked all those boxes, I want to say that wolves like this tend to chase off anyone who dares to stand up to them. People get told things like "Some people just don't do well with a strong pastor"...and then shown the door. Shortly afterward there will be a Sunday...

The Fad of the Bible College Movement

Misrepresenting the value of their "diploma" is nefarious indeed. And if the primary goal for sending adult children away to a Bible college and spending $45k for a "diploma" is for them to find a like-minded mate, then start IFBmatchmaker.com or something...it would be a whole lot cheaper. Let...

The Fad of the Bible College Movement

There are a lot of questionable motives for those who pushed all teens to enroll in their unaccredited schools so they could "follow God's will for their lives".  Using such manipulation is nefarious.

The Fad of the Bible College Movement

I have noticed more local kids choosing to attend the community college in town, as it costs less and actually provides fully accredited, transferable credits. The state of CA will not recognize TRACS accredited degrees - not even to be a substitute teacher. They also will not grandfather...

The Fad of the Bible College Movement

Yes, 4 years - although that would be a bit low for students at WCBC. Their website gives a cost estimate of $5,720 per semester for on campus students, so $45,760 for a lower than community college quality "degree".

The Fad of the Bible College Movement

$40,000 a pop for each student...maybe more if you can get a quasi-accreditation. A reason to continually hold building banquets and reach out to outside donors. Cha-ching!

    Faux standards of dress

Especially when they preach about how women are supposed to dress, and how their "immodesty" (which usually means not wearing a long dress or skirt) makes men struggle with their thought life. So either the pastor does not mind having a naughty thought life, or his preaching is very wrong.

    Right On

It was not uncommon to hear one thing from that pulpit while having them do the opposite. There was a lot of double-speak happening. So until I hear a public repentance with specifics, I will not give another benefit of the doubt.

Racial Dating Policies at Bible Colleges

There are some absolutes. African-American students at at these IFB schools are absolutely being discriminated against because of the color of their skin.

Racial Dating Policies at Bible Colleges

You find it quite easy to judge people by their political views, yet get all wishy-washy when it is pointed out that racism is wicked. The Fundies  institutionalize this racism. You find that  acceptable, while I clearly do not.
