Why wouldn't you?

"Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" (Amos 3:3)
Bad translation, better one
ESV Amos 3:3 Do two walk together,
unless they have agreed to meet?

Then, let's try this one:
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people." (II Cor. 6:14-16)

Which is why I might join the local Catholic Church in a political activity....pro life rally for instance or helping provide food for the local food ministry...but I'm not interested in joining them for worship. But that's just me, I'm sure!  :)

No, you aren't alone. We all draw lines somewhere.

Good verse but you are on pretty thin ice applying it to godly people with different practice and doctrine than you.

Practice is subjective. I wouldn't separate for a difference in practice. Doctrine, on the other hand, is a different story. The influence of false teaching is far too dangerous to overlook.

So separate from all the churches that teach a tithe? :)

Honest question, Frag.

Would you spend three days to have a prayer meeting with Liberty University, Freebird alumni?

YES!  And I would DEFINITELY present each with a KJ Bible.....

Does your church unite with other Christian churches in your area, whether they be Baptist, Presbyterian, Christian or Catholic for prayer meetings?

No.  Why would we?
I'm trying to be civil.  But, isn't your senator a Catholic?

What these men do not understand is that the POLITICIANS they prayed with, will be running for re-election.  LOL!!!

So?
For the life of me, I don't see how anyone could have a problem with Pastors, or any other citizen for that matter, visiting with, talking to and praying for their elected representatives.
Unless this is just another Freebird Thread...and then the substance is irrelevant...other than to bash the fundies!

Wait! This IS another Freebird Thread... :)

I am a member of a IBC.  My point is this, the POLITICIANS met with these men for VOTES, hence, re-election.  LOL!!

They/you are fooling yourselves if you believe with all your heart that the POLITICIANS were sincere.

If they shared the gospel with their Representative, then I am good with it. Politicians need Jesus too.

If they prayed with a pants wearing woman Pol without calling her a heifer, well ....

;)

I wouldn't call the tithe a cardinal doctrine of the faith. I would lump that in with the other subjective practices.

That is why the IFBxers don't like pants on women; no wiggle room.

'The POLITICIANS' (intimating they are all the same is a false assumption) may or may not be sincere, but there is still nothing wrong with what takes place at the CC. I personally contact my representatives regularly...and have prayed with and for them on many occasions.

I'm shocked that nobody has brought up the fact that we, as voters, can request to meet with our Senators and Reps anytime.  We don't have to go through Chuck Harding or anyone else to get there.  These pastors are being misled into thinking that Harding is doing them a favor by "pulling some strings" to make these things happen.  You know what?  You can go down to your neighborhood Mardel's, buy a Bible, and take it to your Senator next time he's in town.  He might even let you pray with him!  I bet it'd cost a whole lot less than the Capitol Connection mission trip, too.  I'd like to know how much Harding and Creed are pocketing from this little venture.

Harding/Creed didn't book our appointments with our Senators and Reps.  Each of the pastors who went did that personally.  I made the appointments and showed up for the meetings.  Again, ignorance reigns supreme on the FFF.

How many large meetings accomodating 100s of people from both your area and across America have you planned, financed and pulled off?  I assume NONE.  Because if you ever did, you would find that you ALWAYS lose $$ doing it.

But, hey, don't let the facts get in the way of your hatred...............
You proved my point exactly! Harding/Creed involvement isn't at all necessary.  This event is just a feather in their caps.
Are you implying that Harding financed this entire thing?  I highly doubt it since he charges for participation.

As for my history, you'd be surprised to know how many local and national events I've planned and executed.  Maybe you're the ignorant one in assuming that Harding is the only one capable of doing such a thing.

The only 'hatred' I feel (it's more like pity) is toward misinformed pastors who don't have wisdom enough to check out a guy's story before jumping on his bandwagon. I would encourage you to research Chuck Harding and his story before you send any more money his way.  You can take my statement as anger, bitterness, whatever you'd like, but know that I'm a member of an IFB church and have a pastor that is actively involved with Chuck Harding's ministry and has been since it's inception.  What I'm telling you is truth and I challenge you to refute it with fact.

Certainly you can go to meet with your representatives without anyone organizing it.
You can also go to Washington or your state capital and make a pro-life statement (or any other statement) anytime you want to...but if someone organizes it, and the participants, it just seems to be more effective!

Joe Donnell is.  Which made it even more important to have the opportunity to deliver the gospel to him.  And  pray for him.

What's your point?

Works salvation, baptisimal regeration, and Mary worship....

Nope, can't think of any reason....

This is an apples to oranges comp. as well.

The politician is in an ordained position, that we are admonished to pray for.

The false prophet, on the other hand, we are forbidden to bid godspeed to, or wish well.

Obviously some would separate for non-Biblical reasons from other Evangelicals,
but your list included outright cults, like Rome.

It is one thing to separate from a brother who is a fornicator, but not from an unbeliever who is.

It is one thing to pray with a civic leader, another to pray with someone who makes  people two-fold more a child of  Hell than themselves.

BINGO!  What he said....

Some obviously were not sincere.  Some were.  One of the pleasant surprises of this wonderful opportunity was meeting a remnant of politicians who I believe are absolutely saved and absolutely sincere.  And they are working within our system of government to help steer our country in a Biblical, conservative direction.

And THEY were encouraged that we came, and expressed our appreciation.  And some were blessed to tears by our prayers.

Course it is easier to sit home, be jaded, and take cheap potshots than to make any effort to make a difference.....
