Current State of HAC

Many parents like and trust Wilkerson.

I understand that he is likeable, but until he publicly cleans house and admits the failures of the past, I would not trust him with my children!

My kid might be going to PCC in a couple years. She’s visited and seems to like it. She’s planning on doing nursing, and apparently they have a top notch nursing program with a high NCLEX passage rate in Florida. We’ll see…a couple more years to think about it, otherwise it’ll be commuter school. Liberty U is out of our price range.

PCC has had a reputation as a good nursing college for decades.

The only thing I know against them is that they are into (or sliding towards) contemporary music, but if that is no problem for you, so be it.

It's an interesting point. I don't have a problem with a school being primarily for training pastors, missionaries, or various leadership positions, but I DO object to trying to "guilt" everyone for going there "at least one year" when they have NO call to these areas.

Or, the church can try to truly be a college that provides degrees in many areas, but this is difficult, I would imagine.
The Crown College has a trade college for its students so a church type college can do it.

So contemporary 10 years ago instead of contemporary 100 years ago?

She actually loves CCM, so that definitely won’t be a dealbreaker.

They've been going that way for a while now...

Not necessarily true.
Many Christian schools and churches have continued to grow/thrive after the death of their founders.
What are your examples?
BJU, Tennessee Temple, Maranatha, Oberlin, Trinity have all gone down or changed after original leadership left.

Who's grown after the founder has moved on to other things?

One could argue that Ambassador Baptist College has grown--if not numerically, then institutionally--since Ron Comfort assumed the chancellery in 2011 and handed the presidency to Alton Beal.

One could also argue that Pillsbury Baptist Bible College reached its zenith during the first half of the presidency of Joseph Rammel (1975-1987). Monroe Parker, the school's first resident president, had left more than a decade earlier in 1965.

The old judge and 4everfsu listed those ‘on the tip of my tongue’.
And I’d add Cedarville, which claims 5 individual founders.

The Crown School of Trades and Technology is the most unique arm of that whole institution. More Christian young people need to enter the trades.
It is reported that HAC's media program includes some IT certifications that are widely accepted and that they also have an accredited EMT certification program. Good for them.

Does anyone on the forums know anything definitive about the long-term stability of Hyles-Anderson College?

I ask because an acquaintance told me several months ago that the enrollment numbers stand somewhere between four-hundred (400) and four-hundred-and-fifty (450) students.

Is this true? If so, is such a decline sustainable for more than a few years?
Yes it is true. I was told by a staff member there were approximately 400 students during the 2024-25 school year.
