If Dr. Evans knew, and it's assumed he did, how could he stand by and do nothing. At min a few guys from down south or Chicago, on behalf of the father, could have given a warning to Dave that if it happens again your body will be deposited deep in lake Michigan. They could have insisted he leave town or he would disapear. Was it Career over daughter or did he not really believe it or perhaps "the good of the ministry". I can't help but wonder? Did anyone ever ask Dr. Evans directly.

You are wise to express doubt that Dave Hyles will close down his fallen preachers "recovery" racket. As of February 2025, he was still in the recovery "ministry."

yes my husband and I would have dinner with both of them when they were in Lake Wales. He said he wanted to save the ministry. I disagreed and left the room. My husband and him talked more.

For over forty years, that question has been asked repeatedly. I do not know the answer. I do know that Joy, his daughter brought a civil law suit against Dave Hyles, FBC and HAC for monetary damages just a few years ago. That suit was dismissed by the US District Court in Chicago on statutory grounds. The district court was affirmed by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in 2022.

A few weeks ago, I watched the livestream of Dr. Evans' funeral service which was held in the chapel at HAC. During the service Joy and her brother, David, came to the podium and spoke in glowing terms of their father. Considering all of the above, I found the dynamic very bizarre. It's not every defendant who allows its assailant to enter their domain and speak at an official event. Very strange.
