That when we try and obey The Great Commission, and we get excited to send missionaries out of our churches, but yet when God brings them to our doorsteps, we want them to go back where they came from?

"Obama?s own policy decisions ? allowing Assad to convert peaceful demonstrations into an increasingly ugly civil war, refusing to declare safe havens and no-fly zones ? were instrumental in creating the Syrian refugee crisis. This crisis is in large part the direct consequence of President Obama?s decision to stand aside and watch Syria burn. For him to try and use a derisory and symbolic program to allow 10,000 refugees into the United States in order to posture as more caring than those evil Jacksonian rednecks out in the benighted sticks is one of the most cynical, cold-blooded, and nastily divisive moves an American President has made in a long time."

What I find interesting is the party that is striving for a theocracy in this country, has totally missed the boat.

This is a bit snarky, but does make a good point.

The party is not striving for a theocracy. There are some, in the party, that think so.

I had wondered why the Democrats were so keen on importing so many Muslims.

Smellin and recovering never met a liberal stereotype they didn't repeat.
To them, Herman Neutic was an immigrant turned away at their border.

So where's the graphic depicting how the Jews treated Gentiles?

That a secular government ought to behave like Jesus taught his followers?

Why are you arguing in favour of a theocracy?

I always took the commandments as personal or for the Church. Not governments.

So when The Scriptures say that when a man's ways please God, that God will make his enemies be at peace with him? You don't believe in God? You don't trust in Him to provide the protection for our country? So, who is being "bewy bewy afwaid?"
It's funny, all along on this site, I was labeled antinomian, when all along it was others here who are the real antinomians.
Don't put your trust in chariots or horses brothers......

What does Psalm 2 say?

Nope. That isn't my argument at all. My point is those who would claim to want a theocractic form of government are going about it the wrong way.

But as Christians, yeah, we should want our government and its officials to at least on a personal level, believe and practice what Jesus taught and hope that those behaviors are able to leak into governmental policy.

So you are for the legality of gay marriage as an equal right?

If he actually took the commands as personal, he would actually be for the stoning of sodomites? ;)

Hmmm...

Residents of Sodom were not stoned by others. Methinks you never really met your friend Herman. ;)

(Oh wait, a little "s". But this as term instead of as a resident isn't biblical either.)

When you have Christians running the government I am sure their moral good will benefit the country. But, when you have the morally dead running a government anything is possible.

I put my trust in the entire council of God, I don't pick and choose, especially when your god of this world says different!
Psalm 2 1 Why do the nations conspire[a]
    and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth rise up
    and the rulers band together
    against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
3 ?Let us break their chains
    and throw off their shackles.?
4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
    the Lord scoffs at them.
5 He rebukes them in his anger
    and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
6 ?I have installed my king
    on Zion, my holy mountain.?
7 I will proclaim the Lord?s decree:

He said to me, ?You are my son;
    today I have become your father.
8 Ask me,
    and I will make the nations your inheritance,
    the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You will break them with a rod of iron;
    you will dash them to pieces like pottery.?
10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
    be warned, you rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear
    and celebrate his rule with trembling.
12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry
    and your way will lead to your destruction,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
    Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
Psalm 72 1 Endow the king with your justice, O God,
    the royal son with your righteousness.
2 May he judge your people in righteousness,
    your afflicted ones with justice.
3 May the mountains bring prosperity to the people,
    the hills the fruit of righteousness.
4 May he defend the afflicted among the people
    and save the children of the needy;
    may he crush the oppressor.
5 May he endure[a] as long as the sun,
    as long as the moon, through all generations.
6 May he be like rain falling on a mown field,
    like showers watering the earth.
7 In his days may the righteous flourish
    and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.
8 May he rule from sea to sea
    and from the River to the ends of the earth.
9 May the desert tribes bow before him
    and his enemies lick the dust.
10 May the kings of Tarshish and of distant shores
    bring tribute to him.
May the kings of Sheba and Seba
    present him gifts.
11 May all kings bow down to him
    and all nations serve him.
12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
    the afflicted who have no one to help.
13 He will take pity on the weak and the needy
    and save the needy from death.
14 He will rescue them from oppression and violence,
    for precious is their blood in his sight.
15 Long may he live!
    May gold from Sheba be given him.
May people ever pray for him
    and bless him all day long.
16 May grain abound throughout the land;
    on the tops of the hills may it sway.
May the crops flourish like Lebanon
    and thrive[c] like the grass of the field.
17 May his name endure forever;
    may it continue as long as the sun.
Then all nations will be blessed through him,[d]
    and they will call him blessed.
18 Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,
    who alone does marvelous deeds.
19 Praise be to his glorious name forever;
    may the whole earth be filled with his glory.
Amen and Amen.

What's the right (presumably liberal and Democratic) way of wanting a theocratic government?
