Does Love = Coersion

The OP is implying that Calvinism equates love and coercion? You mean CU is deliberately misrepresenting what a typical Calvinist believes?  :o

No. Get it right. Calvinism presents a love wrapped in coercion. The Love of God isn't about coercion.

I've heard men say similar things in referencing their "call" to God. A Calvinist will pretend that they are the only ones that have a Gospel message that centers on Christ...... when in actuality... .its ALL about them. They believe they were chosen. That all of creation centers around "God's choice" in them. That no one else can claim this. Just some "special" elect.

Calvin himself wrote....

God by a sudden conversion subdued and brought my mind to a teachable frame

Calvinists believe they are the only elect?

Oh! PY is making things up again!

I was referencing the result of the belief. Not that they particularly claim that only Calvinists are the elect. I meant no such thing.

I have consistently heard Calvinist make some rather silly claims about God's choice in THEM. Most of them are very similar to what Calvin said. That, against their own will, God "subdued" them. The man that preached the sermon in-which I accepted Christ was fond of say "the high sheriff of Glory, came down from heaven with a warrant for his arrest and "brought" him to Jesus"

I can tell you that he wasn't portraying an "arrest" where the suspect went willingly. I seem to remember some references to "kicking and scream" or "resistance".

That's an entirely different picture from the Christ "stand at the door" knocking.

I hear free willer anti-Calvinists say stuff like this all the time.  Yet I have never heard a Calvinist talk this way.

The irony of this bogus claim about Calvinists by free willers is that free willism couldn't possibly be more self-centered, since the hinge and turning point of their salvation is all about their personal decision.

Nonsense. I simply asked for something God had already done. I have nothing to boast about. I was powerless and helpless. I couldn't help myself. God, Himself, made the very words I needed ..... near to me....

Rom 10:8  But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

What "power" is there in asking for something? The very fact you "ask" implies you can't help YOURSELF.

You're one claiming God choose YOU in Eternity. I have consistently said that God chose His Son. That God's choice was first and foremost in Himself. That God's choice in the mankind was that of the Church. A people who would willingly accept the Gospel of their OWN freewill choice.

Stick around. You might learn a thing or two about your demonstrably inadequate doctrine.

What's the difference between you and the unsaved?  You made the right decision, and they did not.  That's about as you-centered as you can get.

Making a decision anyone can make......Is "you centered"?  Get a grip man. Its hard to get a Calvinist to stop thinking in "singular" manner.

I'll match that against

"While countless others were damned by the good pleasure of God's will before the world was even formed, I was chosen".

THIS is the epitome of being "ME, ME, ME" centered

If a person truly believes that God creates some for destruction why risks having children and them being created for destruction?

Vasectomy would be in order.

I'd be surprised if you have any children.

Well we have children due to our natural drive that is in us. We can't put our children in the center of our lives. We teach our children the Gospel, you know, faith comes by hearing, and pray that God would save them. If he doesn't, that's his will.
Btw, I have 2 small boys.

How can you serve this "image" of God you've made? How? I can't fathom it. Its beyond me how you say such things as if.... It is.... what... it is......

We can't put our children in the center of our lives.

Nope. Children are just possessions. Here one day. Gone the next. Elect or not........ they can't be the "center of our lives".....

Its just so pitiful..... PITIFUL....
