Go woke, go broke.

This is what happens when your product is built on image. I've been boycotting this product since the first time I tasted it.

I don't drink, so I don't really care what either company does! LOL

I did not see any Anheuser-Busch products listed in the domestic beer section on Kid Rock's menu today. The menus looked new, so I guess his shooting bud light cans was not just a publicity stunt.

Glad to hear that. People don’t understand just how much power they have with their wallets. I think conservatives (and especially Christians) should boycott every woke company as much as possible. I know, to a degree, nearly all companies donate money to some woke causes, but when a company crossed the line and sticks it right in your face, boycott!

Like I said, I've been boycotting Bud Light since I first tasted it.

I'd drink it only when someone else was buying but I've a feeling most of my friends are either drinking Lite Beer from Miller or perhaps they have developed some actual taste and have switched to Shiner Bock!

Then again, I have stopped gigging and since Covid, I stopped going to any bars. Plus I am now a Baptist Deacon and a Seminary Student so I guess I am supposed to be a teetotaler and look contemptuously towards such backslidden reprobates who engage in such activity! Now where did I put my Cambridge Wide Margin...

I went teatotal last summer when I reached the conclusion that I was not as in control of my liberty as I had always fancied myself. That and finding out that if I start again, I'll have to start metformin. Can't say I miss it yet but RV season has yet to start. RV season is when I exercised my "liberty" most actively.

I hear you! Last checkup I had, the doctor told me I am borderline pre-diabetic so I cannot exercise my "Liberty" with Blue Bell Ice Cream the way I used to! I am really being forced to "Keep under my body and bring it into subjection!"

Come on over for a tumbler of Crown Royal! :)

Canadian whiskey is meh. So Crown Royal is about as good as meh can get.
At the risk of sounding like a prohibitionist, I have come to the conclusion that much of this stuff is an acquired taste. Unfortunately, acquiring a taste for whiskey, wine or beer requires drinking enough that one runs the risk of becoming an alcoholic in the process.

To me, the stuff I didn't have to acquire a taste for tasted so good, I didn't want to stop until my judgment was impared and before long, I had a couple sheets in the wind. It just isn't worth it to me anymore.

i don;t know about the light version.... but among ems and police on this island the regular budweiser cans are known as red devils.... . they started callng them that after finding lots of empty red budweiser cans scattered around the scenes where major spontaneous crimes had occured.. .. such as parties or gatherings of friends and co-workers that started peacefully and ended in deadly violence.... ..they said it was very rare to find empty cans of any other kind of beer at such scenes.... 🤨

I’m fortunate that I never acquired a taste for beer/wine/whiskey. The only alcohol I ever liked tended to be the drinks that were expensive and/or required too much work to make. I had a weakness for a mojito and a Moscow mule, and an occasional Jack & Coke mix. I decided a few years ago that I didn’t enjoy alcohol enough to spend the money or put the work into buying the required ingredients and preparation, so I quit cold turkey and haven’t had a drop in three years.

Everyone has their own reasons for partaking or not. Having quit the stuff myself, the last thing I want to do is become the type that says my decision is right for everyone. I could argue that my reasoning is sufficient for all and TBH I've found myself bending in that direction at times.

I am doing my darnedest to keep to the simple scriptural maxim found in Roman's 14:5: "One person regards a certain day above the others, while someone else considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind."
