This is the main point of Hebrews: Jesus is better - and the new covenant is better than the old covenant of law, priests, sacrifices, and temple rituals. Therefore, trust completely in Christ and rest in His finished work instead of returning to the old system.

Because returning to the old system means you're crucifying the Son of God afresh, and holding Him to an open shame. An apostasy from which there is no return.
