Because returning to the old system means you're crucifying the Son of God afresh, and holding Him to an open shame. An apostasy from which there is no return.
Free Will or Freewill Baptist

The main point of Hebrews is what a believer does after receiving the truth.
Are we going to live on milk or strong meat?
Will we leave the baby stage and move on to perfection?
Are we going to submit to chastisement (discipline) and become worthy sons?
What you said is true, but stopping at that truth will never create a perfect (mature-complete) person.

There was one free will church in my area up until about 10 years ago. After they got a pastor who was a Normal Baptist they changed the name of the church and became just a Baptist Church.
I suspect this is a bigger thing in TN. My wife is from a county that borders TN and there were several Freewill (or free will, I never paid attention to the spelling). Baptist churches in that area. There were a couple of Holiness Baptist churches around me, which would fellowship with the only free will Baptist Church in my area. From my observations the Holiness Baptists were very close in doctrine to the Free will.
