I get so tired of it.....

I have a friend. A brother in Christ that setup a communion table in his local church.....were individuals/families could partake of the "bread" and "grape juice" any time they want to.

Now, he's getting bashed from all sides by those who feel like this isn't proper because its not going through the local church service and being served by church officers.

Can people really be that stupid?

Don't you get tired of all this nonsense?

"when ye come together"

Sounds corporate to me.

Why do you apply it to the local church?

We can mean many things. Your bias is showing!

Because he was writing to the local church at Corinth???

Now don't go anywhere......

Yes. Paul was writing to local church and they were assembling together....but that's not how it started. It stated with just a few in a little room.

Luk 22:17  And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
Luk 22:18  For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
Luk 22:19  And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Luk 22:20  Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

It wasn't in a church. I wasn't at the Temple.

Your bias is showing....

By the way,

Jesus isn't around to do it anymore. Why don't you demand Jesus show up and administer it Himself?

So he's simultaneously undermining and assuming the authority of the local church. What a self-contradictory loon.

And Judas could have set up his own little bread and wine table out in the street and invited anyone who wanted to partake of the New Covenant whenever they felt like it.

He left us the Comforter, and told us to do it in remembrance.  And for the record, I'm not a "the church started at Pentecost" kinda guy.

What does that have to do with anything? I can have communion with my family ...in "remembrance of Him". I can have communion by myself in "remembrance of him".

Some worse than Judas did. They now call it "transubstantiation" and require an approved officer of the church to administer it!

You're in such good company....

Sure it is. Its been failing you for years. No one can claim "sovereignty" like you do and find success with God. All your failures are God's failures.

Sooner or later it will come crumbling down on you.

Whenever I get in the shower, I say "In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit" and call it baptism.

There you go again, pretending you know someone better than they do themselves.

Ah.... so you think baptism must be officiated by the proper authority?

Ah - so you think setting up a little table with crackers on it is communion?
