I read it as a man confessing that while it doesn't make sense to him, he could not ignore the impact he has witnessed.
Not saying you have. I agree with you that this story emphasizes God's grace regardless of the vessel he chooses. If He can make rocks sing His praises, He can certainly cause an apostate preacher/activist and a death row inmate testify about Him.Not once have I indicated anything positive about his theology or worldview. What I have done is share a story about God working to promote a little devotional ministry through an entirely unexpected voice.
