There are around 750 high schools in the state of Indiana ( 570 public schools and 166 private).
47 out of 750 sounds pretty good to me. It sounds even better if you consider the average private high school tuition in the state is $10,000 or more and the top schools on that list charge $20,000 plus.
At number 47 HB High school is a steal.
What factors were used in ranking the schools? I think I saw somewhere it was surveys and test scores. Does HB educate special needs kids? Do they accept and test kids with Dyslexia and Autism? If not, they really can't be compared to a public school that services a completely different demographic of student. You can't compare apples to oranges.
As a parent, I would be impressed with the ranking (because my kids don't need any special services anyway). As an educator, I don't see how this ranking is any indication of the school's actual performance.
