"Shares of AMC Entertainment (AMC) shares fell 27% to $15.18 Wednesday ? hitting an all-time low of $15.15 at one point ? after the nation's largest movie theater chain said it would report a net loss for the April-June period of between $174.5 million and $178.5 million, compared to profit of $24 million during the same period a year ago."

Oh, wait a minute. Those heathen church members are just staying home watching NetFlix in their home theaters in their leather recliners.

"Is Netflix killing the multiplex? Wall Street apparently thinks so."

The great Jack Hyles is rejoicing over this! Plus every IFB Pastor in America! Now let's go to Chic-Fil-A.

Back in 1940s, if an IFB preacher preached against movie theaters, he was considered a communist or a Nazi sympathizer.

Interesting.  What's your source for that?

I don't believe there was any such thing as an IFB preacher in that era.

You might want to check Baptist history.

IFB is something that started after that maybe late 50s early 60s.

Well, I believe John R. Rice was in the time period and I'm pretty sure he preached against movies.  I've never read or heard of anyone calling him a Nazi or communist.

Yes, John Rice preached against Hollywood movies throughout his career.

My parents and I frequented his office in Wheaton in the 50s.

Hollywood Movie theaters were not widespread throughout the country until the late 30's
By then J Frank Norris, W.B. Riley, Myron Cedarholm, John Rice and other well known preachers were preaching against them.

J Frank Norris, John Rice, W.B. Riley and T. T. Shields and others all started the fundamentalist movement in the early 30's. Rice and Norris left the SBC at that time in response to what they called liberalism.

But during the war, preachers avoided talking negatively about theaters because of it's propaganda/news usage.

Plus most of what was shown at the movies in the 40's was fairly descent.

It's a Wonderful Life (1946) https://goo.gl/images/g0F3JW
Miracle on 34th Street:(1947) https://goo.gl/images/sa9sug
Bambi (1942) https://goo.gl/images/yExixZ

Yeah from 1941-1945 this pretty much sums up the temporary okay of movie theaters:

IFB preacher: you can't watch movies at theaters!
Patriotic American: that preacher is a kra** sympathizer!
IFB preacher: never mind only for these four years you can

I wonder if the federal penitentiary permits Jack Schaap to get his porn online?

Dr. Schaap is more than likely in PC (where sex offenders usually are) and he's on lockdown 23 Hours a day. I wonder if her critiques the Sunday Morning Chapel service. TBN does have a prison ministry so it looks like when the great Dr. Hyles son-in-law gets released he'll join the charismatic/prosperity movement and get his own TBN/PTL Club talk show.

Wasn't it with a 16/17 year old? Not sure if you need PC if you had sex with a 16/17 year old. Not justifying what he did but he isn't necessarily in the "bottom" of the prison food chain. Prison inmates are usually more keen to attack those that attacked children because they feel like it was their own children. Just keeping it real.

Remember he was charged for crossing state lines, if he didn't... he may be a free man still.
