Introduction

Welcome! I see that you joined back in November and this was around the time I was getting ready for travel to the Philippines so my time was "hit and miss!" I have been around almost as long as you - probably in the early 2000s beginning as a bitter "Hard-Core IFB" clinging to my King James Version and fighting all these cantankerous Calvinists (Coyote, Ransom, Corpsenomore, Smellin' Coffee, Dr Bob, Etc.) and now I are one (depending on who you ask but I digress). I went from there to being FREEEEEEEE and have now come back around full-circle being "More Independent, more Fundamental, More Baptist than ever" but as far removed from the IFB nonsense as can be! Just finished a seminary degree and eager to redeem the time! Compared to you, I am still a whippersnapper (I'm 62) but I am sure God can use you for his glory wherever you may happen to find yourself!

Oh, and I still have my King James Bible!;)

Welcome to the forum, @Plowman!

I joined a few weeks back, but now I can finally say that I’m no longer the new guy around here.
With Plowman around I will always feel like the "NEW GUY" in every conversation. We welcome your wisdom and experience

When Plowman was at Tennessee Temple, they used to have Charles Spurgeon, Dwight L Moody and Adoniram Judson to preach in chapel.

My point for doing that wasn’t to embarrass anybody, or incite the crowd for entertainment, but to show how harsh and vitriolic our language could be towards our own brethren.
That was just theology. Imagine how bad it could get if we talked about politics!

😉
