I’m a little confused because your previous post seemed like a defense of the 70s/80s fad of Bible autographs. Obviously I have no way of knowing whether your dad would feel one way or the other since he’s not on the forum. In fact, I’d already made my feelings about the topic quite clear before you voluntarily made that information public.
That was just a colorful attempt at humor. Nothing evil or hurtful was intended by my statement. I guess I could have picked an older example of Elvis or the Beatles, or a more modern example, but given the average age of folks on this forum, I highly doubt it would resonate. But yes, I’ve seen grown men (and women) of varying ages treat certain visiting preachers, evangelists, and Christian college presidents like celebrities. I believe on the forum it’s sometimes referred to as the “man-o-gawd.”
I’ve been ridiculed and jeered at on this forum many times, called a Catholic lover, various ridicules related to Jimmy Carter, etc. Maybe I should choose my words a little more wisely, but you should also work on something yourself: not personalizing words that aren’t even meant for you.
