Recently my wife needed a ride to the doctors, I was at work, and the pastor offered to drive her. He drive 20+ miles out of his way to pick up another brother before getting my wife - he has a rule about being alone with a woman in his car.
I appreciated this I suppose. But. I never questioned his integrity, nor my wife's.
I drive the opposite sex alone in my car all the time. And besides - these days - the same sex could be a problem. Right?
What are your thoughts about such rules?

IFB X-Files said:Pastor Lee Roberson told the story of once doing some hospital visitation. While at the hospital, he met a group of church ladies that were visiting as well. Among those were his wife. The ladies were leaving to go home as was Roberson.
The ladies asked him if he wanted to take his wife home, "No, I arrived alone and I'll leave alone." He also told us he would never drive around alone with a long-haired male in the car.
Extreme? Well, it depends on if your reputation is worth anything. All it takes is one person to see Roberson in a car with a woman when he arrived alone to start viscous rumors. He died with an impeccable reputation. He worked at it.

LOL! Yes. imagine the vicious rumors which would surface if he rode all alone with a long haired male in the car. I dare not think about itIFB X-Files said:Pastor Lee Roberson told the story of once doing some hospital visitation. While at the hospital, he met a group of church ladies that were visiting as well. What about when his wife was with him? How would someone know he arrived alone if they only saw them on the return trip? Surely anyone could tell a long haired man didn't look like his wife?
How would someone that would mistake a long haired man for a women.... know what his wife in the car wasn't his mistress?
Seems rather pretentious to me.
Yes, but who cares what you think? It's not your reputation.

I don't allow myself to be seen alone in a car with the same sex, just in case a fundamentalist sees me and assumes I'm gay.

I guess his reputation was more important than spending a lil extra time with his wife.
I doubt that either he or his wife would agree with your statement.

Except his prejudices against driving alone in a car with a long haired man versus with company.
Honestly I would say this is probably not true since it literally makes no sense.
It's not. It's just slightly more believable imhoBruh said:Biker said:"I think it would be safe to say that he lived his life to be a godly example in all areas. "

And making his wife ride with other women and he ride alone. How is that Godly?
