I am not making it a African-american or Euro-american issue. This issues do exist and the church needs to address these issues. If the redeemed can't get this right then there is no hope for this country ever rising about its inhumane treatment of humans.
I think the problem is that I will not be bullied or insulted into silence and I will not agree with wrong views held by the majority. Acceptance is good but assimilation is always deadly to the one being assimilated.
yes you have.... to the point that you have totally disregarded the experiences and opinions of people from other races... (like myself.. mexican-navajo)... as if nothing we have to say or can relate to concerning racism is relevant... simply because we are not african american... .. you have put all of us (no matter what our racial heritage is or what kind discrimination and bigotry it is we might have encountered).. all into the same category as euro-americans.... .... which tells me that african americans in the 21st century of your social class and affluence don;t see us as any more worthy of consideration than european americans saw either of us 100 years ago ....
you didn;t look at the evidence presented in the case..... when i first heard about this story i felt the same way you did.... i saw it as black and white...cut and dried.... .. but the evidence showed a much bigger picture..... you are continuing to see it in black and white and doing nobody either black or white any good in the process...... you keep asking everyone here to check their racial bigot card?.... maybe you should take a hard look at your own...........
Thanks for the info aleshanee.
Your assumption that I didn't look at the evidence because I didn't arrive at the same conclusion with you and the rest of the folks on this forum is quite incorrect and telling.
I am aware that others have experienced discrimination in america. I am also aware that each group has a unique experience and those from the other groups do not full grasp the experience of others. I know their is a difference between being stolen from your homeland and having your homeland stolen from you. I know there is a difference between being denied your humanity and the ability to understand what is happening to you in a strange land and the same things occurring in your homeland. I know there is a difference between your culture being accepted as valid, i.e. Native Americans, and your culture being declared invalid, i.e. African-Americans.
I am not being any more divisive when I point out the issues that effect African-Americans in america than Paul was when he reference the existence of Jews and Gentiles. Paul refused to let the dominate culture of the Jews in the church become the culture of the church but this has not been the case in america. Paul did not call for assimilation or ignoring the issues as those in this forum have but instead he called for acceptance of differences and different views.
My concern with the subject is the silence of some and the vocal support of injustice or cry that there can be no such thing as injustice when it comes to African-americans and their insistence that I join them. My concern is with the euro view that other people groups need their paternal input to "really" understand what they experience. My concern is with those who claim to be Christians continuing the silence and support for injustice that characterized the church in america during slavery, Jim Crow, etc. My concern is that the people on this forum feel it is christlike to insult and belittle me because I do not agree with their skewed view. My concern is that the same people who hold up the prophets' identification with their fathers' sins as an example of Christianity refuse to do the same but yet identify all African-americans who disagree with them with the sins of their brothers.
Oh yeah, I don't know who EW is but my name is Wesley Roy and I am not EW but I am WR.
