Better example. However, the principles of a prime number is rather easy to discern.
And what part of "all Scripture [not '
some Scripture' or 'only the Scripture presently available to us'] is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" do you find hard to discern?
"All Scripture is breathed out by God . . ." is a proposition no different in kind from "All men are mortal." It doesn't apply only to men who are already born.
It's not hard to discern at all. I already agreed that all Scripture is God-breathed, etc. The question is, what is scripture? You can say it's the current 66 books of the modern Bible, and that may be fine for you. But that's no better than saying "the only real scripture is the King James Bible, and that's what I believe." It isn't necessarily true just because that's what you believe.
It is still valid to question the authenticity and authorship of some of the books, do the research, and see if you can defend its inclusion into the canon. Indeed, we have more information now than ever to pull from in order to conduct a thorough investigation.
