Liberal idiocy: Girls must overcome discomfort....

There's nothing quite so conservative as a liberal whose whose own opinions suddenly apply to her children.

Yes, I can see it now:  Great big trans-genders showing their stuff in the ladies room.  Terrified girls running screaming from ladies rooms all over the land.  It's going to be nightmarish.  After all, 3 out of every 1000 people are transgender and all they want to do is invade the bathrooms that match their gender identity and wreak havoc.

You do realize that their "gender identity" is already determined by their DNA, right?

Why is it that those who worship "science" disregard it completely when it doesn't align with their desires?

DNA is more complex than simple body parts. DNA can product an intersex individual so one can be born with both genitalia. Since the brain is a human organ as well and since it is the most powerful over all the other organs, there is a possibility the genitalia might not match with the hormonal balance to the brain.

So gender might be more in the hormones/brain function than with the genitalia. Might. We may not have biological explanations for transgender folks today but we may very well tomorrow as science expands and we continue to learn. There are already hints from scientific research pointing in that direction. Insisting trans should prioritize the body over the mind often forget that the brain is just as subject to sex hormones as genitalia.

In essence, the science of DNA and the human body is more complex than simply having an 'innie' or an 'outie'.

The issue is not merely intersex persons -  the 0.02% of the human race that has a sexual development disorder  in which his or her chromosomes are atypical or genitals are sexually ambiguous. For the most part we are talking about people who perceive or claim themselves to be something other than what a doctor would conclude they were, if they were anaesthetized and the doctor could only do tests, not question them.

There is no objective medical test for transgenderism. It is a purely mental phenomenon.

Gender is a term related to give feminine or masculine attributes to inanimate object. This is a much more common occurrence in other languages than in American English.

Sex is the biological (scientific) distinction between the  male and female of a species.

This trouble with the whole issue of blurring these words was noted decades ago when the use of gender was first being proposed. There are only two "sexes" and the proponents of "gender" know this. That is why they needed "gender" to become the preferred word. People saw this coming. Their warnings went unheeded and now there are generations of people (apparently including you) where that blurring has muddied their thinking. "Transgender" is nothing more than the expansion of the blurred theme.

BTW the point I was making was only strengthened by your response. Science is the rallying cry until it doesn't support the agenda de jour.

XX = girl = female
XY = boy = male

To use his logic, I could self identify as having Down's Syndrome.

The fact some defend the POTUS position here is truly saddening.

The sad part is that this whole thread is based on what is not true. The same guidance that allows the transgender student the right to use the restroom/locker room of their choice also gives the student uncomfortable with that the right to ask for other accommodations. Even a believer should understand the where both sides of an argument and should seek the truth and weed out the fiction.

The fact that we are even arguing this, and leaning towards the gender identity rights is sickening in of itself. Boys who were born boys, use a boys restroom. And girls likewise, what's hard about that.

And what are the rights of the other students who are uncomfortable with the transgender student's rights being exercised in their shower?

They have no rights because Penelope's penis is the trump card of rights.  8)

How did we go from the truth about the guidance provided to high schools in regards to transgender use of restrooms to a track and field event in Alaska? Big surprise that life is not always fair in sporting events.

The point of comparison is the idiotic belief that boys and girls are interchangeable. This leads to the wildly popular delusion that you are what you say you are, not what you were made to be.

Hence we are no longer allowed to be concerned when biological and anatomically accurate men invade women's locker rooms and showers, or when they enter women's sporting events and outclass their competition.  There's a reason that men's and women's sports have been historically segregated, and it has nothing to do with sexism.

I realize that public education has probably rotted your brain. Try to follow along.

You have seemed miss that the same guidance given to the schools also allows any student uncomfortable with a transgender in the restroom or shower to request separate accommodations.

When it comes to transgender unless you are going to ask everyone to show genitals how are you going to enforce it. If a student born as a male dresses and acts like a female why do you want them in the restroom or shower with your son?

I do understand that we segregate sports by gender for a reason. With less than 3% of the population transgender how much of an issue with is this going to be in sports? One of the arguments against Title IX was that young men would participate and ruin women's sports. This has not happen. Title IX creates some issues but overall has allowed many young women to participate.

For the record...I attended Christian School from 7th grade through 12th and then attended Hyles -Anderson.
