They've been proven guilty of crimes (in most cases). The refugees are unknown and the majority are innocent.
For all we know, the majority of imprisoned murderers are reformed and won't murder again. So let's release them all in order to show compassion.
The point -- which you obviously don't understand -- is that there's a significant risk of innocents being killed by the refugees (or murderers). Just because YOU have compassion and YOU are willing to take refugees and shoulder the risk doesn't mean America should do it just to please you.
There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears has not reached perfection in love.
Should a "Christian" America fear or love?
Again, you're a Christian, you should have no fear, and you are welcome to take in as many refugees as you want.
That's not the same thing as saying America should take in refugees. Speak for yourself about the risks, dangers, and Christian attitude. I agree with you there on a PERSONAL level. But don't impose it on everyone else. My PERSONAL compassion doesn't give me the right to put everyone else at risk.
The subtext of your arguments (if it is even
subtext) is that "I believe in X, therefore EVERYONE should do X." When you establish a theocracy and crown yourself the leader, then go ahead. Until then, do your part, and stop pretending everyone else should do the same.
