Who else goes back to THIS auditorium?

My parents were married in this auditorium.  I was baptized by JH in this auditorium too.

Shortly after this auditorium was built, my grandma and uncle were visiting my parents and both of them were saved and then followed in baptism.  My grandma and uncle lived 1.5 hours from Hammond so they never regularly attended, but 30 years later she told me how JH got her and her son in the water and baptized them.  I had never heard the more detailed story and I am glad that I was told.  She now is 97 years old and I'm thankful that when she draws her final breath, she'll be assured a home in heaven.

With all the silliness and stupid posting that goes on here, reading this puts a genuine smile on my lips.

There are many many many stories like this that only Heaven will reveal about the 'old church downtown.'

Thank you for sharing.  I am also thankful that I will get to meet your grandma one day.

I always got a kick out of watching Darrel Moore make his grand entry to church by stomping down the balcony extension about 10 minutes late - like, almost every service!

I don't know Darrell Moore very well.  He became a teacher during my years at HAC.  I had him for one class  He always seemed to give off a "cocky" attitude.  I could be totally wrong about him.

I got the same feeling about him, but thought it was because he seemed to play second fiddle to Casteel.

My opinion only and probably off base.  I had him for one class and it was one I liked less than Dr. Paulson's biology class after lunch in the spring.
