Mike Zachary being investigated?

There is a Steve and Diane Hefner at Emmanuel Baptist Church. They have been there since 1999, but no picture. Not sure if it is the same person.

Beyond being illegal, there is certainly liability for those who fail to report or coddle a known abuser.

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Pastor Tim Ruhl and David Jorgensen were all named in a civil suit filed by a sexually abused minor.

” The victim is suing the church and Tim Ruhl for being negligent in hiring and supervising Jorgensen. She also claims that Ruhl failed to report Jorgensen’s actions when she told him about it. The woman also alleges that Ruhl retaliated against her by expelling her six months before graduating high school and later claiming she was having a child out of wedlock. ”

Marie Smith IFBx churches/colleges requiring their staff to sign non-disclosure agreements is the reason it is so rare for a staff member to break rank and talk. They fear a lawsuit...but they can't sue them for disclosing illegal activity.

I suspect Little Jack poster is an inside NVBC whistleblower as well as a new poster to SFL on the Two Rulebooks subject who said:

At North Valley Baptist Church, the division is a little more clean cut. There are rules for the pastor and the “royal family,” while the rest (the underpaid) do the actual work to keep the ministry moving.

These are all honest-to-God truths, and I dare anyone to prove me wrong:

Thompson, Fanara and Trieber (the Blessed Son) haven’t ever worked an honest day in their lives. The church is dwindling, attendance is down, down, down. Where is the growing youth group? Growing Sunday school classes? Soul winning and new members being added to the church? NOWHERE.

The bus ministry was DOA the second Thompson took over. Fanara tried his hand at “pastoring” and bailed less than a month later when he found out he actually had to get off his butt and visit people. Hightailed it to the school but kept all the incentives. Trieber goes AWOL on a regular basis. You’ll need a search warrant to find the boy during work hours.

I wonder if the good people of NVBC care their hard-earned tithes go directly to supporting these allergic-to-work boys.

Still, these three freeloaders pull down unjustifiably LARGE salaries while MUCH lesser paid guys like Marczak or Apusen (who do REAL work). Guys like Touchstone or Padilla who work their tails off daily, only get paid a fraction of the three freeloading sons-in-law.

And let’s not get started on how little the ladies are paid compared to their male counterparts. Whatever happened to equal pay for equal work? Isn’t the workman worth of his meat? I’m guessing that goes for ‘her’ too.

A false balance is an abomination to the Lord!

It’s out of control. And cruel.

It’s dragging yourself to work each day, and being purposefully made to feel like less than a person. This is the only place I’ve ever felt so devalued as a human being. Less than a man.

Being in the ministry, you grow used to criticism, potshots, and everything else from the outside world and the people you serve. That’s part of the package.

But when the boss, the ‘Man of God,’ can’t and won’t ever see the honest work you do, he refuses to, because he’s too busy propping up his “three sons” to any fool who’ll listen, it’s demoralizing.

You should listen to a typical service at NVBC, the sermons are nothing more than endless propping up of the “royal family” and how perfect each member is. It’s disgusting.

Has anyone seen or heard an official statement about Boruff?  GSBC issued a response statement, then retraction statement, then joint statement about MZ, but this really seemed to be started by WCBC first statement.  Why is Boruff gone?  Do we only have the conjecture of a few?

About churches using business nondisclosure agreement:

Several years ago my wife was on staff at a mega-church & for no explained reason she & another lady (the lead pastor's secretary) both of whom happened to be over 55 years of age were abruptly laid-off. A few weeks later 2 ladies in their 20's were hired.

She walked into work & was told to report to the Executive Pastor's office. She was told she was being let go. He handed her a nondisclosure agreement that stated she could never say anything about the workings of the staff or she would be taken to court and sued. She brought it home & asked me what I thought.

I told her, "Do not sign that & tell them I said to to drop dead." She made an appointment with the Pastor & the Ex. & told them & never signed the form. She was much more gracious than I would have been. We never went back to that business masquerading as a church. She, to this day has never learned a reason for the dismissal.

I have always wondered about signing these agreements. I always thought "How would these be enforced?" Kind of funny that a church would sue a member and come back on Sunday and preach about getting right with God. But, I would not be surprised.

The older I get the more I'm of the opinion that lawyers who protect the church from a government run amuck are a good thing, but that lawyers who tell the church what to do are a bad thing.

Did they require a signed non-disclosure to receive a severance package?
If referring to my post.......no severance & no unemployment because it was a church.

I know that what nearly sent me through the roof after the JS scandal broke was that David Gibbs conducted our first Wednesday night Spin Session. Laughing one minute, maudlin the next...controlling the situation and 'interpreting' it for us....it made me livid. That was Missed Opportunity #2 for truth, honesty, and godliness.

I am just trying to figure out why people sign these. Maybe they are still under the spell of their manipulative mannogawd.

But Trieber is still letting Mike Strouf drive the bus, right?

Trieber  allowed him to return from Colorado after the statute of limitations had expired. He should have turned him over to the police.

From what I understand, yes on the bus and DEFINITELY yes on the statute of limitations

Speaking of coaches, Mike “The Predator” Strouf is alloyed to coach on NVBC little league and teach a 6th grade boys class. He was only caught up abusing girls but a pedophile is a pedophile regardless of gender. You would think if you covered up his first crimes you wouldn’t be stupid enough to set it up to happen again. IFB leadership are no better tha Catholic priest.

*sigh* I know there's a lot of things going on.. But i just had to join this blog because my family who lives in another country read about this blog and was concerned and I on the other hand who knew about it before they read this online decided to just pray for the Pastor, his staff and the church who has been affected through this.. Satan will attack the Man of God in anyway he can!
Everyone commits mistakes in life, we are not perfect... No ONE is.. Instead of judging and pointing fingers, let us look in the mirror and look at ourselves first..
Luke 6:37
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
James 4:11-12
Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
Romans 2:1-2
Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

When you grow up, you'll be able to eat meat, as well,

1Ti 5:19-21
19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

1Ti 5:19-21

Welcome.

Bro. Hyles used to blame Satan when others pointed out his hypocrisy, George Godfrey and others, it was just his way of getting us to ignore his culpability. That whole argument is so lame.

You may learn something about yourself if you stick around.

Again welcome.

Welcome to the forum.

Yes.  Pray for the innocent, hurt and abused victims of these predators.

Your texts are not applied to this situation.  As Prophet pointed out, we are to not allow sin in the congregation.  This forum is simply asking for honesty from leadership in the movement.  We are asking pastors to live up to the advice they have peddled to others.  We are taking our grievance to the church as Mat 18 commands us to do.  You see, the abuse of leadership within the IFB prevents Mt 18 from occurring, so we post here that others may find their way out of abusive churches and into a real relationship with Christ.

Joh 7:24  Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

...I guess I could make it into red letters for you but I'm sure you'll still get my drift.
